    Lol @ comparing September to ST. The reason why people might "discount" either of those is due to small sample size, ST is like a couple of weeks vs. guys trying their hardest to crack the MLB club, many of them prospects or career minor leaguers, while September historically has a bunch callups who may or many not perform well for a limited period. Thornton has a full season of data available so a good September can only be a plus and definitely counts.

    You very likely won't see him on the court this season, given that the Wizards applied for a Disabled Player Exception to get out from paying his contract this year, or at least the cap hit of it. I just think you could have gotten him at literally any other round, if not during the season itself. He's no Kevin Durant.

    You guys might wanna temper expectations on McGuire a tad. His defense is pretty legit, but this is a guy whose last two seasons in AAA had a wRC+ of 86 and 73, with ISOs of .106 and .119 (juiced balls) with a BABIP around .280. Then in the majors he has a 145 wRC+ in 100 PAs with a .281 ISO (lol) and a .338 BABIP. Reese seems like he'll make a very good backup but let's pump our tires a bit on him.

    Man, I know he's fully your type of player, but can you really justify rostering him throughout the entire year while he's injured and then use one of six keeper spots on him? I was assuming Wall would go undrafted and would be picked up next waiver draft.

    Dear god no, Dombrowski is exactly the kind of guy that shits on a rebuild like ours for win-now moves. It's fine when the core is already so good that it doesn't matter, like in the Red Sox's case, but then there's Detroit where going all-in didn't win them a championship and now they're in a worse spot than even we are.

    First of all, you're out to lunch if you think it was Montoyo's idea to implement the opener, the guy who multiple times has told the media he has no idea who's pitching tomorrow. Second, with Thornton, Kay and Waguespack going, these are our only real starters so that's why you haven't seen the opener being used for a few games.
