  1. I kinda figured he would go to the slider again on 3-2, I think it would've been an excellent pitch if he threw it on the outside corner/slightly off the plate but he hung it.
  2. Zeuch has 5 swinging strikes on the slider on 26 thrown. He has no other swinging strikes. Incredible stuff.
  3. It's weird, he's thrown all sliders and changeups as his secondaries. Ironically it's gotten him a couple of strikeouts already.
  4. A couple of nice sliders there to Joyce low and inside. The first one was a good take and the second got him.
  5. The NL fans f***ing love the DH, it's idiotic.
  6. Zeuch got squeezed! Should have had a walk.
  7. If they're shifting it's because the numbers say that's where they hit the ball to most of the time lol. Vlad hits the ball the opposite way sometimes too but that doesn't stop him from grounding out to the left side substantially more.
  8. Wow one strikeout in his first inning! He just proved the haters wrong.
  9. The anti-shift circle jerk from Buck and Pat is strong tonight. They're getting plenty of fuel for that fire.
  10. Font was fine once again, his only issue was not getting as many swings and misses as usual if you wanna find something to complain about.
  11. Are you blaming Font for what happened? Sure he could have used some more swings and misses but he gave up one deep flyball on a well located fastball on the outside black, then two of the worst groundball hits you'll see and then a bloop single on a fastball high and inside which literally hurt Donaldson.
  12. Lol @ this BABIP luck, poor Font.
  13. Freeman had no idea where the ball went on his swing but yes let's credit his supernatural ability to beat the shift.
  14. He was god awful for us dude.
  15. Ah, I see he pulled the Jason Heyward. At least he had the decency to give Milwaukee one killer year before doing so.
  16. That year was also an outlier for him, since his K rate plummeted immediately after and he never looked back. The Cardinals also liked him enough to promote him to A+ during that year. Excellent point.
  17. For those wondering the ages in which this happened: Brinson - 20 Dalbec - 21/22 (hope!) Gallo - 19 Demeritte - 19 Pham - 20 Beck - 19 Conine was in his age 21 season (and recently turned 22), so he's in the older group, and to his credit, had the best hitting line among players in the criteria for which Laika filtered. This is a no-win scenario though, he better have been tearing the cover off the ball if he's older than everyone else with that K rate.
  18. Joey Gallo was Conine's age...when he was crushing AA and getting an extended look in the MLB. He was 19 in A ball when he mashed 38 homeruns.
  19. Considering he projects as a top 5 hitter for us, which includes Smoak, yeah.
  20. Except that in Verlander's case, the fastball velocity hasn't really gone anywhere.
  21. Have you seen his numbers from this season?
  22. Strongly disagree. I think Taylor goes in the top 30 for sure, Gonzalez a bit lower due to proximity, or lack thereof.
  23. 94 mph on the outside, Buck says "another splitter" lol.
  24. As speculated by many, both of them are/would have been on the brink of Tampa's 40-man crunch. Taylor is rule 5 eligible this offseason so we'll have to add him, while Gonzalez will be eligible next offseason as he was signed as a 16 year-old back in 2016, and he's only just gotten up to A-. I imagine he'll start the season at Lansing and move up to Dunedin in the latter half of the year if the Jays like what they see.
