  1. This aged really poorly. This game was an all-timer.
  2. Not saying you have to know every player, but you've never heard of top 50 prospect Nico Hoerner?
  3. Look at Randy Arozarena acknowledging the organization and the team (in Spanish, the translator was awful) for allowing him to shine.
  4. Would anyone know who Nick Anderson, Randy Arozarena, Tyler Glasnow, Peter Fairbanks, etc. are if not for the Rays? Arozarena couldn't even buy a spot on the f***ing Cardinals. Pretty sure he's happy the Rays acquired him and are allowing him to shine on the national stage.
  5. Hitting the last pitch you saw is pretty common for walk-offs.
  6. https://www.mlb.com/news/2019-mlb-postseason-schedule It's really not that hard to look up. The league usually schedules one league to begin a day prior to the other and then they overlap plenty until the final day in which the other league will finish. It actually ensures there being as much baseball being played every day as possible.
  7. The 2019 World Series started on October the 22nd and Game 7 was on October the 30th. The 2017 World Series started on October 24th and Game 7 was on November 1st. The 2016 World Series started on October 25th and Game 7 was on November 2nd. Just what exactly are you on about? The MLB playoffs have never taken more than just barely over a month at worst, and the World Series is already played in exactly the same number of days that you're suggesting lol. You're literally complaining about something which doesn't exist.
  8. It can't and it won't because of the logistical nightmare that is travelling during the postseason. If LA and New York are in the World Series, are they just gonna play night games, travel across the country next day and play on the same day? It'll never be approved. This season's scenario, which I think is awesome don't get me wrong, is only possible because every game is played at the same venue, and that's obviously not sticking around post pandemic since the league and teams want home field advantage to mean something.
  9. Michael Perez, Rays' catcher.
  10. Are you the commissioner of baseball? Who f***ing cares? The teams have plenty of money, the value of a qualifying offer is going up following a shortened season in a pandemic. TV money is still coming in through the pipes. The Rays are revolutionizing how roster construction and analytical scouting is made, whether you like it or not. They're maximizing the value of their players, which by the way feature some pretty exciting pitchers as we saw on display tonight, and are doing the best out of a s***** situation where they have by far the least amount of resources in the league. The Yankees can go cry themselves to sleep with their piles of money, I'm sure half of MLB's fanbase was pretty thrilled that they got knocked the f*** out by a team with a tenth of their payroll and resources. I found Glasnow, Nick Anderson, Pete Fairbanks, Choi and Arozarena pretty damn thrilling that series. The Dodgers are still in it by the way. You can go edge yourself to the millions of fans and their player contract pages, despite the fact that the team essentially follows the Rays' model with ten times the resources.
  11. Difference between Jays and Rays. The Rays are a significantly better team and were easily the best team in the AL in the best division in baseball. The Jays are on the tail end of a rebuild just scratching the surface of competitiveness. Hmmmmm, nope it must be that one team has famous fathers and the other doesn't, that must be it!
  12. Holy f*** shut the f*** up about ratings. The Yankees and their entitled fanbase can go f*** themselves. The Rays are a loveable underdog going up against the two villains of the league. If no one wants to watch that then who f***ing cares? Having the big market teams winning all the time is f***ing boring. It's what's happening in the NBA and except for the Raptors championship the last few Finals have been boring as f***.
  13. Friendly reminder that Matt Vasgersian is a terrible commentator and bad for the sport, and no amount of screaming at somewhat meaningful plays will change that.
  14. I'm looking for an upgrade at 1B, one more saves compiling reliever (ideally a good one) and possibly an elite or near elite upgrade at OF. Guys available for the upgrade(s): Brandon Nimmo Brian Anderson Jose Quintana Brusdar Graterol Bobby Dalbec Mark Canha Kiebert Ruiz Adley Rustchman Zac Veen Ethan Hankins
  15. Kim should in theory cost a lot less than a top rotation arm anyways though right? I don't see why pursuing and possibly acquiring him should prevent us from targeting a Springer or a TOR starter.
  16. So you'd prefer to just roll with Brandon Drury or Travis Shaw and just call it a day?
  17. The first one was a meatball. The second one wasn't a good pitch either but at least it was at the bottom of the zone.
  18. I wouldn't necessarily call it lopsided, just a failure everywhere else to capitalize on the asset. Realmuto was exactly who the Phillies thought they were trading for, if not better. He gave them 7.4 fWAR in 192 games which is elite level performance, had they made the playoffs he would have been a large reason why. But my point is trading for 2 years of elite performance - at catcher mind you - for a pitching prospect is something every single team in the Phillies' position (playoff aspirations/high on the win curve) would do 10 times out of 10. Of course, they squandered his performance and now he might leave them, so the Marlins are laughing that they got a high potential starter with monster stuff and Alfaro who might not be garbage and still has several years of control for a guy who was definitely not sticking around.
  19. So a bunch of incels on the internet who have literally never met either in real life and just see boy and girl and go "haha they f***ed" is your source? Come on man.
  20. What has Tatis done that was absurd? Be extremely exciting and show some emotion which the fans love? Tatis up to now has shown he can dish it and take it. Machado on the other hand tossed his bat after hitting a solo HR off Kershaw which only made it a 2-run game and then he can't handle the pitcher showing some emotion following an all-time catch? Lol f*** off bud.
  21. Groshans is expected to move to 3B by scouts because he's tall for a SS and there aren't many tall SS around because once their frame fills out they tend to lose range. That doesn't mean he will move to 3B, and the team has yet to make any indication that they view Groshans as anything but a SS. Like Krylian points out, he missed a year of development time in 2019, is 20 years old and is very far away, so he should have no bearing on our moves for the next 2-3 seasons at least. Martin was drafted as a SS, so this means the team thinks he's a good defender despite most of his experience at the college level coming at 3B - and some OF I think? How current MLB players will fit in with guys that are 2 years away or acquisitions along the way is a futile thought exercise. The question should be whether Bichette is good enough to stick at SS, and whether we should start exploring him at other positions if someone comes along who is a much better defender and a significant upgrade to team - e.g. Francisco Lindor.
  22. The typical CB Bucknor strikezone.
  23. Hahahahaha Hosmer. That's what you sign him for, vetrin presents AND dat defense.
  24. This camera angle at Globe Life is so weird.
