  1. Why would the A's give up Ramon Laureano?
  2. Yes. I think the reports of him losing 30+ pounds are since the beginning of ST 2.0, and he's lost something like 10-15 lbs this offseason already. (allegedly)
  3. Yeah Vlad honestly just needs to put all of his efforts into improving his launch angle to become the monster hitter he has the ability to be. Hopefully being in better shape allows that but I have no confidence in him being anywhere close to an average defender at any position.
  4. In theory you could platoon him with our corner OF but Teoscar doesn't really have large platoon splits (probably not stabilized but meh) and Gurriel possibly does but both of them might be good enough hitters regardless and the defense won't be worse so I don't see a great reason to add someone like him when our biggest need (in the OF) is an upgrade at CF and Joc won't provide that.
  5. Charlie Montoyo isn't even the worst AL manager of the year finalist. The other guy doesn't even have a job!
  6. Could the reason for that be that Springer is a year younger and better at everything than LeMahieu?
  7. The Dodgers already have their own Lindor situation in Corey Seager.
  8. Does Ryu not exist? Was that not them putting their money where their mouth is?
  9. For comparison and reference, noted cheater George Springer has fairly identical home/away splits, and he actually has generally performed slightly better on the road than at home.
  10. No one seems to be talking about the elephant in the room behind how much DJLM benefited from Yankee Stadium. His home/away splits are gigantic, he's god in Yankee Stadium and DJ LeSlapHitter everywhere else. Now obviously he's no stranger to extreme home/away splits being a lifelong Coors guy before this, but it should really be taken into account how much slapping balls into the short porch boosted his offensive production, and the Rogers Centre/Sahlen/Dunedin (in case 2021 season is not played north of the border) do not feature a cheaty short porch that the team can build an offense around. His HR over the last two seasons: Home - 27 Away - 9
  11. I mean, O'Day is 38 and has 40 combined innings the last 3 seasons (though he was healthy for this one). I'm not sure that's even an egregious decision even in a pre-pandemic market under the new 3 batter minimum rules. I'd certainly take him at that price though don't get me wrong lol, but the Braves are probably trying to cut a few million here and there to be able to bring in high level contributors/keep around a guy like Marcell Ozuna.
  12. It's not even that he's likely to be anti-analytics and the typical "go with your gut" old school mentality. He's also maybe even more likely to be anti flair and showboating, which is a serious shame for a team whose appeal is boosted by the fact that their players seem to have a lot of fun on the field and they bring excitement through their antics.
  13. Nothing like hiring an old man with old-man mentality to manage a young up and coming team full of flair. This looks like a move that came from the very top, pretty disgusting hire honestly.
  14. Which is funny because while May has the more tantalizing stuff and is hilarious to watch his attitude on the mound, Jansen has been the objectively better pitcher this postseason.
  15. Kershaw has for a while now always had his own personal catcher. Pretty sure Barnes has been his for some time since he's their best defensive catcher.
  16. Except Jeter was a significantly worse fielder at his position that LGJ is at his lol.
  17. This aged really poorly. This game was an all-timer.
  18. Not saying you have to know every player, but you've never heard of top 50 prospect Nico Hoerner?
  19. Look at Randy Arozarena acknowledging the organization and the team (in Spanish, the translator was awful) for allowing him to shine.
  20. Would anyone know who Nick Anderson, Randy Arozarena, Tyler Glasnow, Peter Fairbanks, etc. are if not for the Rays? Arozarena couldn't even buy a spot on the f***ing Cardinals. Pretty sure he's happy the Rays acquired him and are allowing him to shine on the national stage.
  21. Hitting the last pitch you saw is pretty common for walk-offs.
  22. https://www.mlb.com/news/2019-mlb-postseason-schedule It's really not that hard to look up. The league usually schedules one league to begin a day prior to the other and then they overlap plenty until the final day in which the other league will finish. It actually ensures there being as much baseball being played every day as possible.
  23. The 2019 World Series started on October the 22nd and Game 7 was on October the 30th. The 2017 World Series started on October 24th and Game 7 was on November 1st. The 2016 World Series started on October 25th and Game 7 was on November 2nd. Just what exactly are you on about? The MLB playoffs have never taken more than just barely over a month at worst, and the World Series is already played in exactly the same number of days that you're suggesting lol. You're literally complaining about something which doesn't exist.
  24. It can't and it won't because of the logistical nightmare that is travelling during the postseason. If LA and New York are in the World Series, are they just gonna play night games, travel across the country next day and play on the same day? It'll never be approved. This season's scenario, which I think is awesome don't get me wrong, is only possible because every game is played at the same venue, and that's obviously not sticking around post pandemic since the league and teams want home field advantage to mean something.
  25. Michael Perez, Rays' catcher.
