We are definitely not the only team running a 6 man rotation right now. Someone like Ryu in particular we already know does well from having extra days of rest, the team obviously knows what they're doing with these extra days of rest. They're not just imposing these measures because having suboptimal lineups and matchups is fun. -
Why do people keep forgetting that Spring Training was like a week and a half? The Dodgers took out Kershaw with a perfect game going through 7, but yes the Blue Jays are the only team doing weird stuff with their pitching lol.

Byron Buxton is hurt, could barely run to second, slammed his fist and frustration and was taken out of the game immediately.

Would you rather he put in some scrub to face Gallo with 2 on in a very winnable game in the 6th inning? Mayza was absolutely the right guy to put in there.

83 pitches though. I don't think they want to extend anyone when they don't need to this early in the year. Mayza will get the job done. I don't think Gausman is being pulled for any reason than his pitch count.

Gausman trusting and locating his fastball more. It just makes that filthy splitter that much more dangerous, despite the run on those two bloops/bad defense this inning was incredibly encouraging.

Zack Collins also projects roughly similar to Bird and can at the very least be a third string catcher in case of emergency. I feel like this continued discussion over a guy who literally the rest of the league doesn't care - the Jays and Yankees included - is just kind of excessive. This is a guy who hasn't been relevant for at least 5 years. -

Greg Bird projects for an 88 wRC+ and is currently sporting a 60 wRC+ in AAA. We really need to stop talking about this man lmao. Otto Lopez and Samad Taylor both project to be about as good at the plate and provide other things than being literally just a DH who can't run. -
The only difference between this lineup and tomorrow's might be Chapman being in the lineup. I'd rather not mess with Gausman's schedule because Tapia is batting a couple spots too high in the lineup. Also f*** rainouts in general lol, that's why the elite teams - Toronto, Tampa, Milwaukee, Seattle, Miami - all have roofs.

Pretty awesome seeing when two vets who used to be awesome still contribute. You got Wainwright still being a boss at age 40, allows a leadoff triple, then induces a weak pop up and Ks Yelich (suxxx now though), but then gets beat by the other wily vet Andrew McCutchen who punches one up the middle to drive the run in.
