  1. I'm out of minor slots so the rest of my picks can be made void.
  2. Was just about to ask this question. Can I pick here?
  3. Have some 5th and 6th rounders that I likely won't be using so I'd like to package them with either (or both) of my 4ths for an upgrade or 2023 picks. Could also bundle my 2-12 pick with another to get into the first round.
  4. I was just about to do that but didn't want to confuse other owners during the offseason. Will probably update it after the draft or something, closer to the season.
  5. Since I've now addressed most of the weaknesses I was trying to fortify, I'll put up one of my surplus OF for whatever value matches them and makes sense for my team. Could be a more permanent solution at 1B with Votto or Lowe going back your way, a good prospect at any position, or additional SP or elite reliever depth. Someone like Luke Weaver could be had inexpensively, but I would prefer to only move him as an add-on piece rather than just him for a mediocre pick.
  6. My team is old as f*** now but I think I should have another strong roster heading into next season to compete for back to back titles.
  7. 1B upgrade secured but both Votto and Lowe would be available in trade for a more stable (age/performance) upgrade at the position.
  8. Would like to upgrade on Nate Lowe at 1B and an additional good starter to offset some of the risk in my rotation. Wouldn't hate another closer either. On the table as usual are one of my surplus OF and my prospect tandem - Rutschman is obviously very expensive and I can afford to not sell low on Bohm so don't aim for him if you're hoping to get him at a discounted price. Also would consider selling Robinson Cano for a pick for those looking at buy-low 2B options with some upside.
  9. Jose De León is a nice little depth signing as well. He sucks but is an absolute K machine, if we get lucky with reliever volatility and he stops giving up a homerun every other batter we could have a decent arm to eat up the 6-7th innings perhaps.
  10. Anyone else seeing a lot of Manny Machado in that swing?
  11. At age 34. The Barry Bonds of starting pitching.
  12. These takes aged poorly in a hurry.
  13. But who is "someone like him" that can be signed out of FA? Stroman and Gausman basically? Of course there's always a consideration when making a trade on how much value you're giving up and how that stacks up to purely signing a player, but acquiring a guy like Marquez also gives the team the financial flexibility to still pursue one of these types in FA, if those exist. It's not an either or scenario. The team is high on the win curve with some key pieces of the current squad as free agents and some young, currently cheap players they'll be having to make a decision on. Also your initial post was literally "German Marqez is a right handed Steven Matz, just a few years younger" which couldn't be further from the truth. Marquez isn't more valuable just because he's cheaper, he's legitimately easily a better pitcher.
  14. I don't think you have any idea how good and valuable German Marquez is. He's basically as valuable as Marcus Stroman but is 26 and on an excellent contract. Well above average velocity and spin on his breaking ball which he's translated into strikeouts, low walks and even despite making his home ballpark Coors he hasn't had big issues with the longball. That's a premium asset. He couldn't be further from Steven Matz, their projected WAR for next season might be as much as 2 wins apart. Hell Matz might get more in FA than Marquez is guaranteed for in the next 3 seasons.
  15. Now that was a pathetic effort by Devers. What the hell was that?
  16. His knees don't work, he literally can't do any better than that lol. He has the knees of a 40 year old catcher.
  17. Is this camera angle of the field for real?
  18. My draft is done, havok back up for his last selection.
  19. Around, will pick shortly.
  20. Yordan Alvarez is an animal. Career 153 wRC+ in almost 1000 career PA. He even underperformed his wOBA this season according to the xStats.
  21. Well the Astros do have those. Correa, Altuve and Yordan Alvarez are all superb and top 5 in their positions. Kyle Tucker was a highly touted prospect and finished top 10 in fWAR among outfielders. The only thing they're missing now from those teams are the aces in Cole and Verlander.
  22. Seemed like Robert got a brutal jump but holy f*** what a throw by Maldonado.
  23. Hey all, can I request that I get emailed through Yahoo for when my pick is up this weekend? I'll be away and not as attentive so GD who's been my co-manager will keep an eye out and make the pick(s). A PM on top of it is always appreciated but just an email works for now.
  24. I have a lot of meh picks, two fourths + two fifths. Would like to consolidate those into a third or combine with my second for a first.
  25. It's tied to the electronic strikezone which has been broken since the first.
