Holy s***, talk about the tale of two halves. Looked like a deer in the headlights the first two and then starting painting his pitches with good enough secondaries to keep them off balance. First half is what everyone else sees in Kikuchi, second half is what the Blue Jays saw in him this offseason. -
It's hilarious how he'll go from missing completely off the plate to painting one randomly.

Are you aware of the fact that Kirk has the third highest offensive projection for a catcher in the entire league? Kirk having a 105 wRC+ is actually significant for a young catcher this early in his career, given that the baseline for offense at the position is much lower than others. He's been bad in like 15 PAs in 2022, aside from that all he's done is hit.

Somehow Zack Collins is outframing Sean Murphy in this game. Or MLB umps are just not very good at their job. It's probably the latter.
