    Ray came back from that performance with a dominant outing against the Rays though. If he finishes strong he'll have a better ERA in more innings than Cole and blows his RA-9 WAR out of the water. I think if the season ended today it's Ray by a hair.

    He won't win it but Lance Lynn will be up there as well with his ERA. The innings will rightfully dock him though.

    It's the Baltimore Orioles, not exactly unreasonable to expect disappointment.

    I think it started getting crushed - the rest of his stuff is too though - so he started going heavy on the cutter which worked for him last year and the change usage skyrocketed. I think the reason is at this point his best bet is going full junkballer and deception with sinker/changeup since the command is nowhere it used to be and the rest of the stuff has declined significantly.

    Bo with his free swinger tendencies is still a 4 win player so honestly he doesn't even need to change a thing to be extremely valuable. Obviously he's young and there's always room for improvement but he can pretty much do whatever he wants even if it's the same as now, the results are there and the projections believe in him.

    Aaron Boone is bringing in Andrew Heaney with bases loaded and 1 out in what's only a 2 run game in the 5th. This is a complete embarrassment and the Yankees do not deserve to make the postseason with moves like this.

    Jansen's wRC+ being in the 80s after his woeful start to the season is a small miracle. His xwOBA is actually a respectable .316 now.

    Salvador Perez is gonna crack 40 homeruns as a catcher and barely crack 3 WAR because he's one of the worst defensive catchers in the league. He might be a near 5 win catcher with an electronic strikezone though.

    My bad, I thought you were talking about Robbie Ray. For what it's worth Gausman's projections all buy him as having changed his skill level and if you count last season he's been putting up 200 consecutive innings of high level pitching far beyond his previous career averages.
