  1. Reyes better make up for that in this AB
  2. Seriously? A f***ing pop up there and a run comes in?!
  3. Ugh. Could have been worse there. Hold them to a run.
  4. ig AB big pitch coming here.
  5. Oh the meltdown is starting early.
  6. Damn! Thought that one had a chance but he caught it. Nice catch.
  7. Hmm...keep hitting like that you might beat out Lawrie since he can't stay healthy long enough to stay in the line up.
  8. Who said Velly couldn't hit righties?!
  9. Oh this is painful. Didn't we just call up a catcher who was Wakefield's personal catcher? HINT HINT!
  10. Well, this sucks. But Thole has to be there for RA! 8th passed ball?
  11. Ah so there is! f***. But at least they made him work. here's hoping RA puts up a zero in the home half.
  12. He's hanging in there and working the count. That's a plus instead of his first pitch pop ups.
  13. That must means he's even better than some thought?
  14. I'm with both of you there. COlby has fallen on his face especially towards the end of the year. At the very least you'd think he'd work on his swing/approach since he'll be a FA. It'll give the Jays a chance to see if Gose/Pillar can run away with the job or at least gauge how it might work out with a platoon or if they need to bring someone else in. I'm still hoping they resign Melky and if they have to go with a platoon of those two. The offense might not be there especially with the power but seeing Pillar the second time this year seems like he's on a mission with some of his plays. Gose covers a lot of ground and at least hasn't made some of the bone headed plays Colby has defensively. If the two of them can cover the ground and play solid defense we might be able to tread water with their offense or at least they might be options for a platoon or back up to another player brought in.
  15. I wasn't expecting this many guys called up. I guess the Jays want to reward some of these guys and see what in house options they have heading into the off season. Should be exciting to watch some of them.
  16. That sounds exactly like some of the guys who've been thrown into the TOR rotation over the years.
  17. AA: "Sorry, it's just business. Nothing personal." NW: "If that's true, how do you still have a job?" Blue Jays announce they've released Neil Wagner.
  18. When it rains it pours.
  19. I'm not 100% sure but I think the club will be responsible for at least some kind of money. I remember years ago when the Jays signed a minor leaguer who had been with the Brewers who wound up needing TJS in ST. They voided his contract citing preexisting injuries and after a back and forth the Brewers were responsible for the cost of his surgery since it happened while he was with them (MLB wound up stating something along the lines of they believed he was injured while under contract with them so they must pay for the surgery) so it might be similar with him where he was on the 40 man has some kind of protections in that sense especially if their intent is to resign him anyway. If not I think they still have to cover the surgery and some rehab. I could be wrong.
  20. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see them play almost every day/get some starts/get a few innings in to see if they deserve a nice look in ST next year. It's about time this team had some prospects we can get excited about and can't wait to see. They could be cheaper options next year especially with the FAs to be. If they look like they can hold their own, then maybe the off season develops differently than if they stumble. Something to look forward to and see what happens this OS.
  21. Not a bad move. He's under control, not horrible stats so I guess we'll see especially since he was acquired for a no name prospect. Watch this be the excuse AA uses to not resign Melky. "We got a solid replacement for him. We think this guy, who we've been keeping an eye on and tried to get a lot, will be just as good and cheaper!"
  22. Not big news, kind of saw it coming since he was done for the year and likely all of next year. They might resign him to a minor league contract (my speculation) to save the spot on the 40 man roster and see if he winds up recovering well. If not oh well. http://mlb.mlb.com/team/transactions.jsp?c_id=tor#month=9&year=2014&team_id=141
