  1. I guess whatever the market holds this off season. We need either an everyday 2B or 3B. I'd prefer 3B if we can get a guy with some pop and move Lawrie to 2B unless a decent hitting defensive 2B can be had. Reyes at 2B wouldn't be a bad idea since it's growing painfully obvious he's losing some range and is a liability at times. I'd rather him try and sign a FA rather than flip some more prospects unless it's a sold player. I guess it's all going to come down to what AA can acquire at what position.
  2. Hard hit ball naturally right at someone. Someone needs to sacrifice a leprechaun or something.
  3. Good point. I forgot Pompey was already there. Pillar seems to be a man on a mission to stay up since his recall. Gose seems to be able to hold his own and at least can do as good (worse case) if not better than Colby defensively. Maybe allocate those funds for something else or to be cheap and hold them for later.
  4. I was hoping after last year he found his swing and even though I didn't expect a 4.5-5 WAR player he'd at least be able to hold his own, patrol CF well, and at least hit a decent average with some pop. The only thing he seemed to do this year was hit some homers early on and that fell apart like him falling into the wall. Maybe he's doing it intentionally thinking the Jays will give him another one year contract, he'll make up for it next year, then get a nicer deal on the FA or is that too much thought for him?
  5. You mean Navarro stealing second? I thought I was in a parallel universe for a moment.
  6. Even better since he's been hitting the AL East well too. Well, minus NY
  7. DUH! How'd I forget about him? My mind is somewhere else lately. Problem solved there.
  8. I guess they realized their offense suffered a bit too much after the Lester trade. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-adam-dunn-trade-talks-20140831-story.html
  9. My vote would be pick up the option and unless a good deal comes along keep him next year and see if he can continue his tear against RHP. See who we can stick in for lefties if AA finds someone who isn't a waste of a roster spot after a few games.
  10. I figured he'd be better this year but you've taken the words out of my mouth there. Damn!
  11. Since the board seems dead I figured I'd post something? .353 against RHP pick up the option, trade him or keep him and try to find a better platoon partner?
  12. I wasn't expecting that when I saw the thread. I've been laughing for about 5 minutes straight
  13. Somehow if Morrow puts up a couple of good frames (maybe even a start or two) I could see AA panic and pick up the option. Maybe I'm just being really cynical and thinking AA does something stupid with money again. I wouldn't mind him back at a cheaper salary like some have mentioned, low base, incentives (which AA seems to never do) and if he stays healthy it's a win whether it's in the pen or rotation. He'll probably take his buyout and see if anyone will give him a guaranteed deal elsewhere for more. I would find it hard to think that any team gives him a deal for more than the minimum after the disaster he's been with one injury after another. It's sad and sucks since he was looking very good a few years ago and then BAM!
  14. Hopefully he can take the time he's been given now and run with it. He seems to be busting his ass on every play and chance. He's probably fully aware the Jays have two FA OF so he wants a spot or to show he can do it at a fraction of the cost.
  15. I doubt it since the Jays pulled the let Rios and his contract be assumed by the claiming team card years ago so I'd image a team would be afraid of them doing that with Reyes or even MB. At this point, even though MB is a decent middle rotation pitcher, his salary this year and next would basically be a salary dump for the Jays, especially Reyes and if a team wanted to acquire them probably wait for the offseason where if they can't agree they don't have to worry about assuming the remainder of the contract.
  16. I don't know. I was supposed to get the "donor" part added and I guess when that was added the mod part was accidentally added as well. I don't seem to have any Mod abilities.
  17. I'm guessing Lind will be the next one DFA or at least his option won't be picked up after that comment.
  18. The revolving door continues again! Granted I think Pillar should get an extended period to see if he can at least serve as a 4th OF in the bigs. Reimold had his chance, started off decent, fell offensively, and the Jays are going to try and make it look like they're making moves to "stay in it" or "win games" or whatever crap they'll shout. At this point it's a not a bad idea (especially with September less than a week away) to start seeing what in house options might work for next year or to at least get a better idea about. Pillar should be one of them. It'll also give the fans something to watch since they botched the playoffs this year. Soon Morrow will be back (maybe) and they'll see what he can do and if he'll be worth the $10M option next year (no he's not) and if he can put up some decent innings without having to shut it down again maybe offer him a bargain contract for next year but with Norris and Nolin knocking on the door it'll be an uphill battle for him.
  19. Next thing that HAS to happen, extra bases walk off hit everyone (except the Rays) go home happy.
  20. OH BOY! Rays are getting the bad end of the stick today and the Jays the breaks!
  21. That rule really pisses me off. It's one thing if you're trying to obstruct the runner while the ball isn't close but this case the ball was there, runner was all but out, throw took him into the path, all good. BTW is this YOUR arm by any chance?
