  1. He does, missing his spots this year though.
  2. If they trade Sanchez for one year of Latos my head will explode. Boyd or anyone else with mid-rotation 100% do it. Take 2 or 3 of those guys.
  3. At the very least it'd be nice to have a LHP out of the BP that can throw heat for strikes. Severely lacking that this year.
  4. I saw you compare him to Happ earlier in the thread. Is his FB that good? Is it as flat as Law makes it sound? I didn't get to watch today but if his FB is anything like Happs he has a very good shot to be a backend starter and bullpen floor.
  5. He's still working on his FB command. It's hard to mix in other pitches when you can't count on your FB for a strike when you need it.
  6. If Sanchez maintains his GB rates and walks less batters he can be as successful as Archer w/o the SO #'s. That's a pretty big if but within the realm of possibility.
  7. I like Niese but his shoulder has falred up again this year. I wouldn't take the risk at a high price but if iit's a package of B prospects I'd take the leap.
  8. Zimm's just hurt too often. It's a shame they are in the NL b/c a DH would help him and the team quite a bit.
  9. JJ got hurt; tehy knew the risk. RAD --> they overpaid for a guy that was very likely to regress as they felt it put them over the hump. It was a bad deal but everyone knew it at the time too.
  10. Beeston is gone after this season, shouldn't be an issue going forward.
  11. The rumours are they want to move Stras to resign Zimm to a long term deal.
  12. Dickey and JJ didn't work out but that doesn't mean future trades wont
  13. Seems like more of an off-season move to me but I like it.
  14. Very solid outing! A couple more like that and he will force the Jays' hands
  15. He's going to have to throw strikes to get MLB hitters out. It's why he wasn't successful in his first time around and there is no reason to believe teh results will be different until he can fix his control issues.
  16. 1.63 WHIP, 4.23 BB/9 in those 5 starts. The results have been good in AAA but you need to throw strikes at the MLB level and Norris hasn't shown he can do that consistently.
  17. I wouldn't trade him easily either but it shouldn't be off the table.
  18. That's a pretty narrow definition of track record of success. Hutch has one good full season and the Jays have a bunch of guys close to the majors who project to be successful mid-rotation guys in the MLB. I'm not saying they should move Hutch but if the right deal comes along it should be considered.
  19. From all accounts they've decided they need to recoup value from Cueto before he leaves in FA but hope to maximize his value to them by keeping him until the deadline. Chapman is a bit of a pipedream.
  20. really depends on your view of Travis. I went in to the year thinking he'd be a long-term 1 -1.5 WAR guy but looks like he could be more than that. The Reds have a very good 2B and I doubt they have interest in bringing in another one.
  21. They're playing Brayan Pena right now and Mesoraco is done for the season. Navaroo would be a decent one year stop gap to replace him. They could also flip him at the deadline if they decide they are out of it.
  22. He's been developing the system for 6 yrs but they'd be a lot further ahead without that Marlins and Dickey deals. He has another wave coming up. It makes sense to move from a position of strength and young arms is the Jays biggest strength right now.
  23. Ya, it's a good observation. They are all in a good spot for their age though...
  24. There is a stable of arms similar to Hutch a year or two out; IMO he's that perfect combo of replaceable/valuable that makes sense to move as long as you are getting over the hump and in to the playoffs.
