  1. I like his defense but he it's not anything special. He hits like Jeff Mathis and is worse behind the plate. He belongs in AAA and hurts his team every day he is out there.
  2. Well what would they give up for Navarro? I don't think they make the playoffs this year either but their roster is built to compete. IMO it makes sense to start building for next season and they need an actual MLB C ASAP to make that happen. If the Jays offered Navarro + whatever is = to to the comp pick (I thought RA but I guess not judging by everyone's reactions) is pretty fair.
  3. Have you watched Mike Zunino? He makes JPA look like a MLB regular and Goins a middle of the order bat. They need a C and have a decent rotation w/o Iwakuma. They'd definitely be interested in Navarro and if they want a long term asset the Jays could offer some prospects instead of RA.
  4. I think the obvious piece of info you're overlooking is that the Mariners need a catcher. Iwakuma is also a rental coming off a big injury. They aren't going to get a great long term piece for him. IMO some stability behind the dish would go a long way for that team.
  5. Iwakuma is a much better pitcher than current RA Dickey. You might even be able to trade RA + Navarro for him.
  6. And he's still gets good results (DIPS and traditional) despite the HR's.
  7. If they're giving up on the year Buehrle, Reyes, EE,. Bautista, and some of the BP arms would draw some interest. That being said I still think they can make the playoffs this year. I'd like to see Edwin and Dioner flipped for some pitching, perhaps Reyes too. Go with Smoak/Colabello/Valencia at 1B/DH and Goins at SS (not ideal but the errors are getting to me). I think they'd be able to land 2 starters and BP help for those guys. Rotation of; Buehrle, Hutch, Estrada, 2 new starters (Lynn and Iwakuma?) BP of; Osuna, Cecil, Sanchez, Delabar, whoever else. IMO that's enough to right the ship + the financial situation going forward will allow for FA additions.
  8. They're both beasts. He's 27yo though so maybe he gets moved based on his age alone (ie selling a guy at his peak)
  9. Someone would give up some good prospects for those guys plus the Cards still have a pretty good system.
  10. No, not at all. Makes far more sense for them to move their older pitchers like Garcia, Lynn and Wainwright and turn those prospects int o a player like Tulo.
  11. Cards aren't moving CMart or Wacha Mets may move Matz or DeGrom, etc but Synder is staying put and Wheeler is out w/ TJS. The Jays should be able to put together as attractive a package as anyone.
  12. Jays would be right up there. They'd want young pitching and a couple good position prospects. Hoffman + Sanchez/Norris + Pompey + Urena would be a very solid offer.
  13. I'd give up something stupid for Tulo.
  14. Could probably get both for Boyd and Castro and some B specs.
  15. Ya neither are rentals, that's why if do it.
  16. For Hamels or Chapman and Cueto I'd do it.
  17. I wouldn't deal him or Hutch for a rental. I also think it would be best to just bump him to the BP to fill that high leverage role.
  18. Just sign Shark in the offseason if you want him that bad and saved the assets for better long term help.
  19. I wouldn't trade either for a rental. Shark would walk too, Jays won't go long enough to sign big money pitchers.
  20. You realise Shark is a rental right?
  21. In the off-season maybe, no way they can move Jose this season.
  22. Mariners are definitely a fit. Orioles aren't going to trade high end players in division.
  23. They have Rizzo.... Not a fit at all.
  24. Edwin hasn't hit well, Reyes hasn't hit well, Travis has been hurt and they are using replacement level players in LF. The offense is dominant and expected to get better in the 2nd half.
