  1. They aren't really set up to do very much, I'm sure they'll add a couple minor pieces though.
  2. There's someone for everyone.
  3. Jays have scored 83 more runs than the NYY in 3 extra games. They do have better pitching but the Jays offense is far superior. And lets not forget that the Jays would be bringing in a pitcher to improve their staff. They don't need an ace they just need a couple more serviceable arms. Doubront/Norris/Sanchez probably fills the 5 spot and BP for the 2nd half. Bring in a guy like Ross, Shields, Hamels and this team should make the playoffs.
  4. Is Norris considered attractive? I find him goofy looking. If they want to attract the ladies they should bring in Matt Kemp
  5. Well if they move either of those guys it will be for a very good player with control and a contract they can afford. I'd prefer to keep them both but for the right piece I'd move either or both of them.
  6. They're only 2.5 games back now and have the best offense in baseball. I find it hard to believe that adding some pitchers would somehow make them worse.
  7. I can't see SD moving Shields, Upton maybe but AA doesn't seem to interested in rentals.
  8. You make a deal knowing that
  9. For now but barely. He's only getting older, injury prone and playing on the turf. How long before he's a burden? Next year? Or in August when he inevitably goes down again?
  10. It doesn't have to cripple payroll. Outside of Donaldson, Bautista and Martin all the big contacts will be off the books. The lineup will have Stroman, Osuna, 2+ more young arms, Travis, Pompey/Alford/Vlad, among others still in their arb years. IMO if they can clear short-term money they'll be fine in the long run.
  11. Making the playoffs is worth Kemp's contract. Ross would be a bonus.
  12. Jays get: Ross, Kimbrel, and Kemp Padres get: Reyes, Boyd, DJ Davis, B specs
  13. He makes good points. Only way we can take on Kemp's contact is to move out money.
  14. Kemp being terrible is kind if the point though. Jays take that awful contact to get Ross who is pretty good..
  15. What would you guys think of Ross and Kemp for Reyes? Is Kemp's deal that bad now?
  16. Doesn't help enough to justify the cost, I like the return though. Abomination mentioned Iwakuma who I've always liked as well, would cost less than Ross and help just as much if healthy. Probably costs you Pentecost for Iwakuma though.
  17. I love that he fought through the rough start. Makes this whole thread 10x better.
  18. I take it all back then. Add an OFer.
  19. BC they're loaded with good arms and are playing Mark Reynolds every day. More realistically they move Jaime Garcia when he's back and healthy.
  20. I don't think it's a hole for the whole year, guess we'll have to disagree there.
  21. Lance Lynn is signed through 2017
  22. What if Donaldson goes down? What if Travis gets hurt? What if a pitcher gets hurt? They're more set at OF than basically anywhere else on the diamond outside of 1B and C.
  23. Saunders is supposed to be back after the AS break. They aren't going to compel someone to make a trade before then anyways and if it is too late it will be because of the pitching not the lineup.
  24. No chance they move CMart If AA could make it happen they should extend him on the spot.
  25. There isn't a need for an external OF'er. They should have Pompey and Saunders for the 2nd half.
