Yeah, I don't think Chuckles should have pulled the trigger on that one. Was good to see him in the game 'cause it sounded like that meant "healthy", but he's not looking 100% out there.
I'll take this output from Tapia any day of the week. If he can produce anything close to what he's shown this series, he's a guy I'll happily have on my bench. Also, my opinions of all the new players so far this season have been giving me whiplash.
I think there's a chance, if he stays this efficient and doesn't get into any real trouble there's no need to use the pen. Though Chuckles DOES love changing pitchers at every possible opportunity (I'm very thankful for the 3 batters rule... )
I think "the play would have been made by an average fielder" is a reasonable rule. Errors are already a judgment call, so just expand to include team errors.
That is some seriously excellent fundamental baserunning there. A superstar like Vladdy could get away with dogging it, but nope, running it out like a pro.
I mean, until we see a sample of what he does when he's more selective we can't say for sure. It's possible, but it's also possible that his current approach is WHY he's been successful.
