  1. f***ing umpires absolutely ruin baseball.
  2. The pitch that Bo hit was well high as well.
  3. Springer works a 9 pitch AB for the first out, and the inning ends at 11 pitches...
  4. Ump sucking already, awesome.
  5. If he wants to pay me $44B for my share of the site, I'll take it. I don't have any share of the site, but he can give me $44B anyway.
  6. He probably would have come in if 1 or 2 runs scored, but Romano is ALWAYS pacing around the pen starting around the 7th inning.
  7. Romano wasn't throwing pitches, he was just pacing around, which he ALWAYS does in games where there's a chance he might be used. Merryweather was the only one the broadcast actually showed throwing pitches (the broadcast team thought it was Romano at first, but they never actually showed Romano warming up).
  8. I cant imagine that it's the honour system, that would be ridiculous.
  9. This show actually features both of their singers. Songs from all 4 albums, I assume back and forth between Edwin and Brian. Should be a great show, they've always had amazing live shows (full disclosure: they're buddies of mine, particularly their percussionist, so I'm probably biased )
  10. Look at those first 2 impactful missed calls. Same inning. If those calls were made correctly, Jays almost certainly win the game.
  11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_lymphocytic_leukemia "...the average 5-year relative survival is 86.1%" It's not great, but he's got a chance to make it for a while.
  12. I might have a ticket or two for the I Mother Earth show at the Phoenix on Saturday (definitely have 1, but another guy is now not 100% sure that he can come). They're GA tickets and it's not sold out (at least not yet) so there's probably no point in buying them from me, but hey. Sure, they're not baseball tickets, but the thread title isn't specific...
  13. I have been banging the roboumps drum for over a decade now. I will never give an ump any credit for being "pretty good" or "having a hard job", because the strike zone shouldn't even be their job, and shouldn't have been for a long time now.
  14. I expect the zone to be called accurately. If people can't do it (and we all know they cannot) then technology must be employed. I don't think that's "expecting too much".
  15. I bet the consensus around here wouldn't be "That sucks, but you can't win 'em all!" if JF54 were still posting
  16. Damn, .560 xBA on that Tapia line out. He's hit the ball hard a few times today.
  17. Did Garcia play for the Savannah Bananas at some point? That would explain his stupid dance.
  18. Tapia just lined out on the hardest hit ball of the game so far. 109.1
  19. That only went 388' They're talking about it like it was 450+ Sure, no doubt because he pulled it, but c'mon.
  20. Vladdy spent a whole season at 1B where he was average before he broke out, I have a hard time believing the two are tied together in any way.
  21. C'mon man, this isn't about babying him. He's an average defender statistically, he's not negative no matter what people may think, and he's an all star. You keep guys like Bo happy, and keeping him at SS will keep him happy. Exactly the same reason Jeter stayed at SS when the Yanks signed Rodriguez.
  22. That late strike call man. I was getting ready to toss my whole house onto the street.
