    I am exceptionally pleased that we got Brentz and Tellez for $1.55M combined... I was thinking that might have been the price tag for ONE of those guys.

    I think the off season program is to improve velocity, and really strengthen the arm... The "during the season" part of the program is likely maintenance.

    The Jays own the program now... Hopefully most of the pitchers in the system include it in their regimens. Would be nice if Matt gave it a shot early on!

    Okay, this is my ignorance coming into play... I honestly didn't pay any attention to baseball last year at all (y'know...) ... So I wasn't aware that Headley had put up a year like that. That does change my perception of his value...

    That right there is a GREAT start. Ideally I'd love a few more Ks, but 0BBs and 3H is a fantastic line. I hope they push him to expand his repertoire of pitches. To be absolutely frank, he's a long shot to make the majors, but if he works hard and really takes advice from his coaches he could keep having outings like today, and he could keep moving up and who knows. I wish him well (mostly because he's a Jays prospect, but also because it's pretty awesome to have a family member of his that posts here) and I hope he has a lot more outings as fantastic as tonights!

    Sanchez because he has value. I didn't say I'd sell them at their low value, I said they were guys I'd move, not that I'd give the away for pennies on the dollar. For a guy who has never lived up to his potential (maybe because of park factors) they don't have as much leverage as they might like. Osuna is a non-trade candidate specifically because of his injuries. Aww yeah, I replied to 4 people on one line! I RULE! (Also, I'm half drunk and someone outside my window is smoking some really strong pot that I think I might have inhaled...)

    And for the record... I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE that word... I NEVER say it (unless I'm singing along with Wu Tang Clan, who ain't nothin' to f*** with!) and it pained me hugely to type it... But I felt that it helped me make my point.

    For a guy with an expiring contract? Hell f***ing no... Osuna's hurt right now, Lawrie is a non-starter and I'm not prepared to move Stroman... I WOULD be willing to move Norris, Pillar, Gose, Sanchez, DJ Davis... A lot of other guys who have varying degrees of value... Obviously not all of those guys at once, but those aren't terrible names to throw out there for a guy like Headley

    The Hill + MacDonald for KJ trade was so f***ing stupid... Bowing to fan pressure because Hill was the whipping boy at the time... Izturis could probably be a halfway decent 2B in the medium term, but the other two... Blah.
