I don't think they'll be able to fill any of their needs by trading Lind, his value simply isn't that high. Keeping Melky over Lind is PROBABLY (again, maddeningly inconsistent) the wrong move from a baseball standpoint, even factoring in contracts.
I would be perfectly happy if we were able to sign JJ to a reasonable extension. It would be ludicrous to think that he's as bad as he's been this year, he's had a fantastic career thus far (minus the injuries) and I expect that he'll return to at least partial form no matter where he winds up next year.
If he takes the qualifying offer he'll no doubt receive, I would be totally fine with that. If AA works out a 3 year, $30M deal (with AA's customary 800 team options) I would be even happier. Of course, if he turns him into Jurickson Profar or someone similar I would tongue bathe his *******.
