    Man, they work on upgrading things every time they have the chance. My mom was a teacher before she retired, and I can tell you that she was working all the time when she was off (evenings, weekends, summers etc...) to improve her offerings to her students. There isn't an "end game" for teachers. They are always working and always trying to improve (obviously, there are the minority that are shitboxes, but they're the minority and they can lick my taint...)

    Go ahead and become a teacher. Tell me how awesome your job is after a few years of actually being a teacher, even with the reasonable (but not amazing) salary and the exceptional vacation days. People that try to get into the field for that end up failing out of the field. It's tough work, but people who excel at it deserve it. Also, teachers deserve our respect, not our derision. They train EVERYONE. Anyone who has ever done anything worthwhile in society has had dozens of teachers, so they shouldn't be disparaged.

    Yeah, find me a teacher than isn't working at least 4 hours at home every night and I'll find you a teacher that doesn't last more than a year....

    My thoughts on various things in this thread. 1) We lost this trade, but not by much.. maybe a 6/4 loss. Pretty even, but we're on the bad side of it. 2) Osuna needs to start, and if LaCava doesn't think he can do it in the majors, you give that f***er some minor league starts. 3) I've totally lost my train of thought now. 4) Chavez could be decent for us, and if we do extend him, it had best be for $10M/year or less. 5) I've lost my train of thought again. 6) La Tortuga.

    Nope. If he can hit .250 AND walk at the pace he was over the past month or so of the regular season, then he's arguably, possibly, as good as Travis, and in starter territory. I am less than sold that he has learned patience; I'm more likely to attribute that to the sample size. Goins with an OBP of ~.320 could be a decent everyday player, but I'd have to see that over any length of time to believe it was possible.

    Everyone always seems so astounded by that, as though I don't have exactly the same sense of humour and posting style or something The old name came from a band I was in at the time, I'm no longer in that band, so it would have been odd to continue using that name when I signed up here
