  1. Well, if the rumour is true that it's "done pending a physical", then there's nothing the Mets can do anymore...
  2. One of the best Twitter follows pushing for Springer to Toronto. I can dig this.
  3. Well, then I REALLY hope he's good, 'cause Chuckles will be using him as the closer all year, even if he manages to suck.
  4. He wants his own facility (with blackjack, and hookers...)
  5. I could get behind that. No sense at even looking at his (admittedly disastrous) 2020 numbers, since, y'know, 4.1 innings does not a worthwhile sample size make.
  6. Guys, I think Spank is having a stroke...
  7. Good deal for the Yanks, IMO. Some risk, but affordable risk.
  8. How is this supposed to be news? OBVIOUSLY with equal offers, he'd be going to the Mets, but the point is that the Mets haven't even made an offer, and at this point, probably won't be able to afford to outbid the Jays.
  9. "Don't bid against yourself" also "Increase your bid"
  10. I mean, there are still no other realistic suitors for Springer, so as much as I would probably be okay around either of those numbers, there's no sense raising your bid when there's zero competition.
  11. I think it's less that he really didn't want to be here, than it is that it really DID want to be in New York...
  12. Fine, beards require moustaches OR stovepipe hats.
  13. What suggests that the Dodgers would want Stripling back? They moved him because they didn't have room for him.
  14. That almost certainly would put them out on Springer, so...
  15. Beards require moustaches. They do not work without them.
  16. Which 5+ (Nearly 25? c'mon Passan) were so busy that they couldn't send a dude for due diligence purposes?
  17. I'm not a fan of any other sport really, but I'm pretty sure in hockey it's called "the 20-21 season" no? That's kinda what I was basing this on...
  18. It's the same off-season, I've changed the title for clarity.
  19. Imagine the offer he'd have gotten if he didn't hit so many homers...
  20. So, we have an offer of 5/115 on the table, if another team says "Hey, I can afford that!" and makes the same offer, Springer isn't going to just take the new offer, his agent is going to come back to the Jays and say "we've got another 5/115 offer on the table, can you beat that?" And the Jays already know their min/max value on Springer, and will counter offer at that point. There's literally zero advantage to the Jays tossing around $150M at this point, even if they have $150M to spend.
  21. Right now it's a 1 team race, so like... "definitely" isn't correct.
  22. Springer is a hard no for me at 5/175...
  23. GUYS! I'm watching an episode of Married With Children w/ the Fiance and it features REAL LIFE CELEBRITY ROY FIRESTONE! I'm in the presence of greatness.
  24. He's going to be another year older next year, so this is his best opportunity to cash in. He might try that, but it might end up backfiring on him. I'm probably okay at 5/125, but I'm also probably out at 5/150. If he takes that rumoured 5/115, I'm quite happy.
