    The same systems have Kikuchi at 1.1 WAR over 18 starts. I'm just not super keen on spending money on a washed up has-been when we're SUPER close to the tax line, if we had a ~$40M cushion, I'd be down, but we don't.

    I don't think they spend another $10M this off season. I think they could have gone over the cap for someone like Verlander, or another impact player, but barring that, it makes sense to stay under the cap. Going JUST over the cap is a bad move for the future, IMO. 'cause you're setting your "have to reset the cap" year a year earlier and your only benefit is a marginal upgrade...

    Gausman Manoah Bassitt Berrios Kikuchi White Zulueta Tiedimann Ryu That's not what I would call "thin" How many teams, even playoff teams, have the luxury of a guy like Berrios as their #4? There are questions about #5, sure, but there are 5 options there who all have the potential to be mid rotation or better, so more than likely one of the four healthy guys wins the job in spring training and we're good. We also have Francis who I still haven't given up on, and while I think most people have given up on Pearson as a starting option (myself, finally, included) he's still technically on that list.

    There's a non-zero chance that he just won't offer a QO for some insane reason and get literally nothing for him.

    James Ready tastes like burnt wood... Laker Red or Lakeport Red were my go-to cheap beers. Honestly Laker Red > Rickard's Red IMO.

    I like Pilsner, it's not bad really... But Lucky Lager is the worst beer I've ever had. And I've had LOTS of different beers.

    So, most of the "new" accounts that get banned quickly are actually former users who are evading bans. Once in a while we get a new poster who comes in and swings his dick around because he's used to the Sportsnet.ca comment section where his belief that batting average and PRODUCHUN are things that matter is taken seriously. It's also important to note that we do not consider this forum to be "family friendly", and while that doesn't apply to actual malice (Anyone using a hard R will absolutely be banned, for example, even an OG), it does mean that we're not expecting users to moderate their language. We're not a church or a pre-school, and that's uncomfortable for some people. While I cannot speak for any of the other mods, this is absolutely not the sort of post that is remotely problematic to me, and I wouldn't even consider banning you over it. Hell, if I was going to ban you for anything it would be for dragging fantasy baseball talk out of the "off topic" forum!

    I have a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label King George V Edition. It was a gift, and like, even before I had to quit drinking, that was the kind of thing I had a hard time justifying actually drinking... I got married this summer and I MIGHT have considered opening it for that, but even that wasn't 100%...

    Yeah, but that doesn't mean they're ignoring it altogether. I think they'd go over for the right piece, but the preference would obviously be to stay under the cap.
