  1. Can we tone it down a bit man? You know I'm not one who's bothered by the jabs and insults (for the most part) but it can't be the only thing you ever do around here
  2. Springer is a 33 year old with questionable legs, which is why they're moving him to a corner permanently, not because he was a bad CF. Bo is 24 and as far as I can recall (which is not very far at all, so correct me if I'm wrong) hasn't had any serious injury issues in his career. Also, Springer is 33 and declining (thankfully not that much yet), Bo is 24 and (theoretically) improving.
  3. We got a solid reliever and a prospect that's farther along than (and probably about as valuable as) a comp pick would have been. I don't think we're going to have any offensive issues this year even without Teo, and we saved $14M. I'm 100% on board with the Teo move even in hindsight. I might not have signed KK with Varsho in the fold, but that's more about wanting Varsho to play CF than it is about not wanting KK... I'm reasonably comfortable with this team as it is now, I think it's a playoff team without question (barring injury, or serious underperformance out of nowhere) and is well positioned to make a deep run. Solid top of the rotation, good pen, great lineup. Now, bring on the MiLB deals with spring training invites!
  4. It was before this forum even existed, on the official MLB forums. Shut the whole thing down for like a day.
  5. Sick George Santos (If that's even his real name) reference!
  6. He said "Top 5 bullpen depth". Words have meanings. I also don't like your take much at all, you say "we didn't improve from last year", well, yeah we did, marginally. On a team that won 92 games and was in the playoffs quite comfortably (and should be again this season barring catastrophic developments). Marginal upgrades on an already great team, with a top 5 payroll in place is not something we should be complaining about in any substantial manner. I think we probably paid a bit too high a price with Moreno, but nothing that couldn't be absorbed in the short and long term, and Varsho is a nice upgrade with a low salary and 4 years of control, we're good.
  7. This is my reaction every time he posts...
  8. Between Jansen, Kirk and Varsho catching should be covered, no need for any of them to catch even 80 games if they are worried about wear and tear. If one of them gets hurt then you probably just have to deal with having a s***** backup catcher for a while, like basically every other team in baseball does every day. We've got a few in Buffalo like Chris Bec and Stevie Berman who could fill that role, but hopefully it's not needed. Also, Biggio is your lefty DH/1B/LF, but also 2B. Sure he's not Going to give you a 140 wRC+, but he should settle in in the 110 range with the shift outlawed, and he's likely only getting maybe 2 starts a week with this roster, if that.
  9. I'm just going to have to get over my blinding hatred of bunts, I guess. It'll take work.
  10. Yes, but SSS. 117 wRC+ v/ lefties, 92 v/ righties. 90 PAs v/ lefties, 225 v/ righties
  11. Maybe his Savant page isn't as red as you'd like, but these are his SLG% in the minors: 2017 ARI A- .534 2018 ARI R 1.083 2018 ARI A+ .451 2019 ARI AA .520 2021 ARI AAA .750 There's some thunder in that bat that may be a few tweaks, or even just getting more used to MLB pitching, away.
  12. Every infield position and DH, never in the OF.
  13. How do you figure? He has fewer than 2 seasons worth of ABs, and in the minors he had a 159 wRC+ in AA and a 161 wRC+ in AAA.
  14. But he's not Plus D. He's "one of the best in all of baseball" D.
  15. I'm sad to see Moreno go, but this is the kind of guy I'd want to trade him for if we had to: Young, cheap, upside, years of control.
  16. No interest in Verdugo, and Yorke had an 84 wRC+ in A+ last year (he is young still, so maybe there's something, but he's already listed as a 2B so probably not a lot of defensive value either).
  17. Here's the problem with this post: It's wrong. Even the MCU thing, Deadpool hasn't yet appeared in the MCU. Deadpool has only appeared in movies for Fox, which are not part of the MCU. The NEXT Deadpool movie will be in the MCU.
  18. Honestly, I think it's more likely that Zulu or Tiedemann get 20 starts than White does. White will start if a pitcher has a minor injury that doesn't require an IL stint, but does need a start skipped. If someone gets hurt and will be out for a while they'll bring up one of the prospects.
  19. I make more insightful posts when I'm literally passed out than you make on your best day, chump.
  20. How quickly we forget the whole "shot a gun at my girlfriend" thing...
  21. Good MLB players usually start life as good prospects. Sure, not all good prospects become good MLB players, but unless you want to buy every player on your team, you can't be including top prospects in deals w/o a serious return. I don't think I'd move any prospect that has a chance to contribute at an above-average or better level this season (Barger, Zulu, Tiedemann, Moreno) with where our payroll currently sits.
  22. Orelvis is the 70th ranked prospect from MLB.com, he's not nothing... But we absolutely do not need Bryan Reynolds if he's going to cost Tiedemann.
  23. I'd try something based around Orelvis, but that's as high as I'd be willing to go w/r/t prospects.
