The reason I was asking wasn't because of SG. I was looking at the positional eligibility of my guys and wanted to make an add that I could have (should have?) done last week had I taken the time to analyze my roster a little more at the time. Ultimately, I'd (hopefully) just be picking up a placeholder anyways and would be able to make better additions through trade.

Yes it does. Just because an AL team CAN let the pitcher hit doesn't mean they will. In fact, they never do. NL teams have no choice in the matter.

The 8th inning and the 9th inning were such a contrast between how Gibbons COULD manage the bullpen and how he DOES manage it. In the 8th, with his usual 7th inning guy unavailable and his 8th inning guy pressed into closer duty, he actually used his guys SITUATIONALLY not just based on arbitrary inning designations. I was really hoping he wouldn't be so married to the Grilli as closer idea that he would do the same in the 9th but no... He pulled Cecil for no reason other than it was the 9th. Sigh.... -
Yeah... I didn't think of him when considering possible pinch runners.
