  1. That's been the story in most of the big recent losses.
  2. Martin/Tulo switcheroo looms big here.
  3. It's a shame that the Jays haven't rocked Tillman. Puts so much pressure on the pitching. Stroman is pitching well for the most part but no run support makes the team need dominance.
  4. That was the first baserunner right? Fourth inning before giving one up is a damn fine start.
  5. Deep fly balls, that's got to be a good sign.
  6. I don't think anyone really gets that.
  7. Small sample size and all but Stroman has been better second time through the order than first time this year. It hasn't been a full turn yet of course but you have to like the strong start.
  8. Travis made a lot of good plays in the last game too. He's a good 2B overall despite occasional shaky play.
  9. Bautista's been moving better lately. Seems like he's finally healthy. Hitting like himself and fielding a lot better.
  10. Yeah I get what you're saying. Feels like trying too hard.
  11. That worked out well for you. Swihart probably isn't worth rostering.
  12. That's not that big a factor with all the spare outfielders they are carrying (Upton, Carrera, Pompey).
  13. Does he have a lot of opinions? That's the worst for me. Not merely being chatty, not merely being ignorant about the game but the mix of chatty, ignorant AND opinionated.
  14. In my experience, the playoff threads are more fun to moderate than the regular ones. During the season, most of the tension is between long time posters and assigning blame can be thorny because there's usually an escalation of things that goes back really far. In the playoffs, it's mostly new posters popping up and causing s*** which is easier to deal with than ongoing board politics. You ban a few, tell the rest to f*** off and get on with things. The regular posters tend to behave because much like the players themselves they don't want to get ejected when the stakes are highest.
  15. I THINK I'll be around and my patience does tend to wear thin during tense playoff games. Banning can actually be kind of cathartic in those moment. I banned countless guys last year and I feel myself rounding into playoff form.
