    The singer from Mariana's Trench wrote (or co-wrote, I forget) Call Me Maybe for Carly Rae Jepsen. I'm not really hip to the lingo the kids use these day but to my ears MT sound EXTREMELY emo.

    If I thought he was capable of realizing his mistake and actually feeling embarrassed over it, I would feel bad. I think his conservative thought process makes him immune to the criticism. He would do the same thing tomorrow.

    Yeah he's a victim of a terrible thought process. He went with a strict adherence to conventional thinking and showed that he was unwilling or incapable of thinking for himself and making a rational decision. I'm not very sympathetic. In the playoffs, you have to manage with urgency. You don't automatically make the kind of ego flattering decisions you make in the regular season (giving your s***** starter a shot at the w, saving your closer for the save). He had over twenty years to learn from his mistake in 1995 and he failed to do so. The more I think about it, the more he I think he absolutely deserves to be fired (just like the last time). He's never going to learn. He should be put out to pasture.

    I guess it's the same a putting up a division banner. It's the accomplishment that got you into the DS. Jays never made the Wild Card before so I'm confused about that part of your quote.

    I don't think WC champion is really a thing. Most playoff teams don't even have to go through a WC round. I would think it unlikely.

    Even the Braves, the definition of an always a bridesmaid never a bride team, did get that one title back in 1995.

    I had completely forgotten that Showalter had done the same thing back in 1995. But thinking back now, I remember everyone saying that it would be ridiculous to fire him over it. Well guess what... They did fire him and the Yankees went on to win four consecutive World Series!

    I don't know.... I'm a data driven guy and the data on Stroman so far is all over the place. Estrada has provided the most value of anyone over two full seasons. I trust that. I value that more than Stroman's upside at the moment. That being said, there are no bad choices right now. Throw in Liriano and you have five good ones.
