Pathetic as he may be, he has as point. The use of the Blue Jays name and logo could get this board in trouble and/or shut down. It's not the competition with the old board that's the issue. It's just a question of controlling the brand. There was a guy who was promoting an Android app called Unofficial Blue Jays App on the old board and it got shut down for unauthorized use of the Jays name and logo. Other similar apps have names like "Toronto baseball app" to avoid this. Of course, it's much easier to shut down an app than a site but that doesn't mean Juiced should consider re-branding this board before the "cease and desist" letters start coming in.

One reason for moderate optimism with Jenkins is that he profiles as the kind of pitcher who would benefit from Major League field conditions and a Major League defense (or at least the reasonable facsimile of one that the Jays send out there).

I would think so. I think the Jays will count their good fortune that it happened while he was in the minors. As difficult as it is to have faith in him, you can't really take him out of the rotation when he's outperformed everybody else.

The think with TDA is that he could end up massively more valuable than Thole but it's also possible (and arguably just as likely) that he can't stay on the field long enough to even provide the value of a low end starting catcher.

Long term TDA is the better asset but for 2013, Thole was a more viable alternative to JPA (not that the Jays went that way but they certainly could have).

Well they got Thole back in the trade so it's not like the trade forced them to commit to JPA. In fact, swapping out Thole for TDA improved the depth chart. The swap of catchers definitely didn't lose the trade for the Jays. The greater concern is that Dickey has looked awful and Syndergaard hasn't lost a beat. He is looking like he has a very real chance of becoming the first traded prospect to really haunt AA.

He doesn't want to. I offered him a ten pick upgrade from 68 to 58 which admittedly isn't much but from his perspective it's literally something for nothing. He came back with pick 35 straight up for the two picks which I turned down. He's doesn't seem interested in a compromise so whatever let the picks go down the toilet.

Gio is off the hook according to ESPN: "One player listed who will be scrutinized but possibly exonerated is the Nationals’ Gio Gonzalez. Gonzalez was listed among Biogenesis clients, but two sources told ESPN that the only substances he received from the clinic were legal."

O.K. Cool. I wasn't sure at what point the picks disappeared. I suppose they still exist up until the moment the pick actually comes up.

Also I'm wondering how we will handle James Paxton, Mark Appel, Tyle Beede type scenarios? Do you get to keep the player, do you get compensation?

I was hoping to stash Randal Delgado in my N/A spot but it looks like Rutledge is going to take that up now. If someone still has an extra pick, I'll flip him to you. I could also trade Rutledge instead but I doubt anyone wants to give me an early pick for him and that's what I'd want.

Or it could mean nothing. Who knows what kind of priority requests from BlueBird Banter get. If the request were coming from Shi, it would find the silence a lot more worrisome although the not-knowing is certainly worrisome in itself.

Yes. As I understand it, tiny URL is just a temporary redirect. Useful for shortening a URL for the purposes of Twitter but useless in this context.
