I don't think using Gose and a cheap backup as a bridge to Pompey is the end of the world. It would free up money to address other needs.

Now I follow. His huge contracts demands and now this. If you want to indulge in speculation based on very little, you can see signs that this guy thinks he's Roger Clemens and acts like it. -

What's the big deal about picking a playoff team to root for? Nearly everyone does this. I realize the Jays aren't mathematically eliminated but big whoop. If the Jays make it by some miracle, we can forget about this but unless the OP has some prior history, I don't get the hate.

As I pointed out when the Jays made the Valencia trade, there's only so many of these bat only players a team can roster. With Lind and Encarnacion back with the team and no CF to back up Rasmus, something had to give and it was Reimold.

Before the draft, his high-sky demands were well known. If the Jays decided to draft him anyways, that's on them not him. -

It's a better version of the Marlins trade in that a) it's been more effective at keeping the Royals in the race (and yes I realize divisional alignment plays into that but trades shouldn't just be evaluated in a vaccuum, you have to look at context) and both teams sacrificed long term assetts but at least the Royals' e financial commitments for Shields and Davis are reasonable compared to Reyes et al. Both trades are questionable but I'd say it's the more defensible of the two.
