  1. Yes but why ignore the fact that he was already exposed? That's a necessary step in the process.
  2. Having Tolleson available to make a start against Miley makes a lot of sense. I'm interested in seeing what the corresponding move will be. Do they finally DL someone? Maybe Valencia since he's not that important and hard to fit into the lineup when you already have two hobbled corner OFs to deal with it.
  3. Well it involves exposing a player to all the other teams so it's not a very practical loophole but good on the Jays for identifying it and using it.
  4. Nope cleared waivers. Will probably replace Diaz as the second MI if ever the OF situation sorts itself out.
  5. That's actually postseason walkoff homeruns.
  6. They were silenced as soon as the injury situation justifying the callup became clear. Good job taking Greenwood's bait though.

  8. David Ortiz is pretty easy to dislike.
  9. I thought he meant Chris Collabello
  10. So shag?
  11. Jose Ramirez if you want to take a chance on a young guy.
  12. I'm rooting pretty hard for Estrada. If he blows up, we'll never hear the end of it.
  13. Really short bench tonight with pretty much no substitution possibilities. In a pinch Thole can catch, Martin can go to third, Donaldson to short and Goins or Travis can go to the OF.
  14. Better than Eau de Richmond.
  15. Seems like Collabello is here just to make this one start and then Tolleson to replace him. I actually don't mind the move now that it's all becoming clear. Scrapping some kind of backup ss plan together for a single partial game at most is no big deal. I might have timed this a bit differently though to give Bautista the day off before the off day but that's without knowing how he feels.
  16. Yes DFAing Muni was probably a concern but whether it should have been is I think a question worthy of debate. I mean what is the point of even having Kawa if not to plan for a Reyes injury? If you're afraid to use him in such a scenario because you might lose him then there's a bit of a paradox at play. On the flip side, you could say that a short term injury to Reyes isn't really what you're planning for. You're planning for a long term one and that hasn't happened yet (holy f*** is that ever a depressing but quite possilby valid rationale for not calling up Kawasaki).
  17. Well s*** if Donaldson is a viable shortstop then why not give him more starts there now while you're a it? A lineup with Valencia at third and Donaldson at short would just demolish left-handed pitching and then Goins comes in for late inning defense (the role he's best suited for anyways).
  18. Seems like AA just wanted to capitalize on a hot start in AAA which really doesn't seem worth it given the current issues with roster flexibility.
  19. There's two years of control on Saunders though. That's a good return for one year of Happ and let's not forget that Bautista, the only veteran OF coming into the season is a guy who might spend less and less time there over the course of this season and next. Saunders fills a need. Let's not ignore that just because he's off to a slow start and Pillar is off to a hot one. Things are a bit awkward right now but Estrada is pretty comparable to Happ. Hopefully he puts together something decent tonight and we all feel better about the state of the team tomorrow.
  20. So if Goins goes down, Travis to short, Valencia to 2B? This will make it super awkward to pinch hit for Goins. Also Collabello fills zero need right now. He's just another defensive pylon.
  21. I think the larger point is should we really care who's been hot at AAA so far? Pompey should have been kept around unleast until the OF defense sorts itself out.
  22. Collabello to LF and Saunders to the DL seems like the most logical explanation (with Pillar to RF and Carrera to full time CF I guess). Would have been nice to give Pompey more rope given the OF situation but I do understand not wanting to bring him back up so soon after his demotion. Whole situation is pretty derpy.
  23. Colabello is leading Buffalo in OPS, Carrera was also hitting well. Seems like AA is paying attentiong to AAA stats (not so much AA given the Matt West DFA).
  24. Should have signed Crain.
