  1. With NL games coming up the Bautista DL seems like a no brainer at this point. I get the argument that Bautista at DH is worth more than his replacement but Bautista as pinch hitter? No to mention that it would be really nice to give him a shot a full health (although we don't really know whether that's even possible until the off season).
  2. They probably should have written column instead of pillar. This makes it look like Kevin has four lockers.
  3. It was pre wildcard. It's basically impossible now.
  4. Kawasaki would get the bulk of the start in such a scenario and his defense is at least serviceable at short much less at 2B.
  5. Kawasaki/Tolleson is by far the best way to address a 2B injury. Should be a reasonably productive platoon.

Armstrong has lighter hair maybe that's why you think he looks older but he has much better skin than Babcock.
  7. Gettin' Jiggy with the baseball?

Also à propos of nothing, I sure hope I don't look like Mike Babcock when I'm 52. He looks like a piece of meat that's been left out in the sun.

Isn't the Leafs FO pretty decent though? I don't follow hockey but aren't the Leafs one of the more analytic friendly teams now?

  11. Worst trade of his tenure? I might only be the third worst trade of that offseason after the Marlins deal and the Indians deal.
  12. It would hep if you actually tried giving him away.
  13. Synder was who the Mets wanted.
  14. Which might have turned out o.k. if AA had not also traded Gomes. That was a lot of f***in' faith to put in JPA.
  15. Infielder Ryan Schimpf got a save for Buffalo and it wasn't one of those low leverage "long" saves. This was with the team up a run in an extra innings game: http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=121742283&sid=t422 Schimpf has been in the system forever it seems.
  16. Well maybe he'll just consider all the Veterin Prezents he can bring.
  17. They really should. His ratios are much better than his ERA would indicate and they could use a veteran lefty.
  18. I'm assuming Redmond is just making the one start and transitioning to the bullpen. This is a spot start give the young starters an extra. I suspect that when a permanent spot in the rotation opens up, it will be between Norris and Wolf as to who gets it.
  19. Incredibly silly poll but, what the hell, I voted for Donaldson.
  20. Redmond was hired out of the Jays system. Coached the Lansing Lugnuts to the best record in franchise history and also coached for the Dunedin Blue Jays. I wonder if Toronto will try to get him back into the organization.
  21. I don't know about that... He's not the kind of burner who should be bunting for hits especially with men on base.
  22. Josh Donaldson seems pretty full of himself. He'd be my guess for player most likely to pick a fight.
