  1. Pretty crazy play: http://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/775516 You definitely need the replay to have any idea what actually happened.
  2. http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l57bd0DSD11qc073co1_400.gif
  3. The hypocrisy of it probably hurt.
  4. lol, that's Ron Maclean.
  5. He fired Boras. That should help him finally land a job.
  6. FFS. No amount of work is going to make time go backwards. It's not Reyes' fault that he's getting older. This is all on AA for taking on this bad contract in the first place. Criticizing Reyes himself is completely futile. All he can do is do the same thing that brought him success in baseball in the first place. The fact that the results just aren't there like they used to be can't be helped.
  7. I guess he's pretty easy to recognize with the whole "I just walked off a Grecian urn" thing he's got going.
  8. This isn't the first time Howarth has shown signs of being off his rocker. He really should be put out to pasture before he further embarasses himself.
  9. But... We know that Stewart liked Navarro more than Castillo becuse he said so AND we know what Stewart just gave up in his trade with the Mariners. I mean you can refuse to connect the dots if you want to but they're staring right at you.
  10. I'm at full farm and I'm facing the prospect of activating Betts to make room for the draft (amongst other moves) and I'm wondering if it might be better to trade him to a team with more room on their farm and, more generally, try to consolidate assetts. In addition to Betts, players I'm looking to package include Span (providing as much value as he did last year and showing more power), Yimi Garcia (elite K rate, gets high leverage work on a good team, young). I also have some lots of middling 20 something pitchers that someone may like (Nate Karns, A.J. Cole, Hector Santiago) and lots of picks and prospects of course.
  11. Everyone is dissecting the Trumbo part but I think Nuno is a really good acquisition for the Mariners. He'll do quite well for them.
  12. I think you might be on to something but at the same time that's very much a "cross that bridge when you get to it" kind of issue. I mean you bring in Donaldson to win. If you don't win, that doesn't mean it wasn't a good idea to bring him in. It just means some of the other planning worked out poorly and if that's the case an upset Donaldson is a secondary issue. The fundamental issue is that you're not winning.
  13. aww f***... I couldn't think of a good way to write that sentence so of course in the process of editing I end up with something that makes no sense at all. The point is that it's pretty hard to overpay for a player with Donaldson's qualities.
  14. If Barreto turns into something then I'll simply be happy for Oakland because every other aspect is a big win for Toronto. Guys who excel on both sides of the ball, have multiple years of control and don't cost a fortune shouldn't never be available in the first place.
  15. Making quick throws was his whole game though. He didn't have a true shortstop's arm (more a 2B arm) but he made up for his limitation with his quick, accurate release. It worked way more often than not. He even managed to play a decent 3B.
  16. Not getting jokes clearly means that I'm on the autism spectrum after all.
  17. If you ranked posters by libertarian tendencies, I think you could come up with quite a few names ahead of mine.
  18. Are bitcoins still a thing? I was thinking I should mine for some and then forget all about them for years and see what happens and then I just skipped the part where I mine them and just plain forgot about them altogether.
  19. Taking the guy who just hit for the pitcher and puttting him in the field would be no different that moving an actual pitcher to another position. That's just the rules man.
  20. Yes. NL teams do it all the time. It's not like the DH where there are special rules.
  21. You don't have to be on the field to do a double switch. Leaving the pinch hitter in the game and taking someone else out and putting the new pitcher in that lienup spot is a thing that's done.
