  1. If you do make a video can I suggest that the first scene is zaun coming into the room with ”pull dat ball+dingers+ribbies=production” or something on the board and say that he is replacing Murphy as teacher or something
  2. Mark Cuban does have a lot of influence, but from reading interviews with him (he actually speaks pretty candidly) he allows his basketball people to do their jobs to find talent and he just says yes and no about spending money. He likes to be hands-on, but he isn't nearly as cray-cray as Loria. I think he's part of the Sith.
  3. It is my dream as a Philly inhabitant to see a team run by someone who has a clue. I'm tired of arguing with my coworkers on how the Phillies are going to crash and burn
  4. Just wondering, but has anyone heard the cause of Justin Miller's death?
  5. The Marlins are in full tear down mode. Not as extreme as the Astros, but the last thing they would want to do is pay millions of dollars to a player when they are trying to lose this year. You're right, they wanted Hech and AA probably said that Escobar had to go with.
  6. I also think that AA said that JP was his guy as a way to keep his trade value up during the off season. If I remember correctly, it originally was JP that was going to the Mets, not d'Arnaud. It wouldn't surprise me if AA has tried to trade JP throughout the year, it just so happens that he has seemingly gotten worse throughout the year.
  7. Exactly. If you're on a boat and your boat suddenly springs a few leaks, you try to fix the leak that's causing the most flooding first because it's causing the most damage. After you fix that it's easier to deal with the remaining leaks.
  8. I'm sure he has read up on it on some medical research sites, but don't expect any links for them.
  9. True, but I kinda viewed that post as the Phillies won't overpay to keep him so they will allow him to see what his market value is.
  10. For what it's worth, Ruiz is incredibly popular here in Philly. It would be hard for the Phillies to let him go just on the PR aspect.
  11. There might be a chance he asked to be dfa if he thought a team would pick him up for a month in the majors instead of going home
  12. He'll need more twitter followers for that to happen
  13. I wouldn't mind Doc as a back of the rotation guy either. He couldn't be worse than some of the guys we've been trotting out there and maybe his presence would add a little bit of accountability to the team
  14. We should have a little game to see if Pillar can get more hits in a month and a half than JPA has walked all year.
  15. "I'm so sorry for the mistakes I've made in the past. Blah years ago I took injections of blah blah in order to boost my performance to get a massive contract that would set my family and I for life. It was selfish, and I want to apologize to the my teammates, the blah organization, Major League Baseball, but most importantly the fans. I'm going to use this opportunity to teach up-and-coming ballplayers that they should play the game the right, clean way."
  16. I don't blame him for being upset, I would be too.
  17. I wonder why he did that. At least then the Blue Jays would pay for his medical care.
  18. I think everyone wants a bunch of guys in their early to mid 20s making absolutely nothing (comparably) who put up all star numbers so we can build a dynasty for years to come. However that's pretty much impossible to do. I really do believe that the key to success is what AA was trying to do: build a farm system, use great farm system to supply players to the Blue Jays from call ups or trades, repeat. I think we just got unlucky with the Dickey trade.
  19. Melky doesn't need his respect. He's a better player.
  20. Yes. Lie. Lie big. JPA has been one of the best catchers in the league for the few years he's been in the bigs. Lind has been one of the top 1st basemen in the American League since 2006. I understand that nobody likes to be criticized but if they didn't want to be in the spot light they should just retire from playing and start coaching or something. Or analyzing I'd be interested on what they would say about a catcher who can't hit or provide decent defense or a first baseman who has underperformed much of his career. I'm going to guess that they'd say the same thing has Zaun and Hayhurst.
  21. I wish I was living in his world. Make believe land is so much more fun than reality.
  22. Haha I know. It just seems like it's all over the place today.
  23. Does anyone know where this strikezone begins and ends?
