  1. He was a dynamite reliever last year but it hasn't translated into good starting pitching. I think you either 1) let him stay on the roster as a reliever or 2) send him down and try to get him to work on his command.
  2. Sanchez 1:1 K:B ratio is what's hurting him. If he can't find the plate teams won't feel the need to swing at his pitches. It's something he should be working on in the minors, not as a major league starter, IMO.
  3. While I'm not the brass I would think that the reason why the former were given as much rope is because the organization wasn't worried about destroying their development at all. They are what they are. The later (especially Snider) were/are greater prospects that I'm sure the organization doesn't want to mess up developmentally. So sending them down was a way to get them more at bats in a less stressful environment and allow them to work on things where it wouldn't damage the major league team. That being said, finding 1 year of a center fielder while Pompey started in AAA probably would have been a good idea.
  4. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/arencibia-trying-to-enjoy-minors-return-to-mlb/ Shaking my head.
  5. This game is going by so fast. I can start my shame and sadness spiral earlier tonight!
  6. This whole throwing infielders in the outfield thing is getting pretty bad.
  7. I guess you kinda have to punt this game. Half the lineup shouldn't be out of AAA. If Donaldson doesn't hit Felix well just kinda give up haha.
  8. I guess that's true. My bad. After reading the rules of Minor League free agency he is a couple seasons away from qualifying.
  9. When Jesse Biddle hits the minor league free agent market I'd love for the Jays to go after him. I saw him pitch in high school and in AA and I really think he'd be an asset to the Jays.
  10. Well, if they had put Bats on the DL where he should be so he can you know, get better and actually play the field, Martin could have DH'd tonight.
  11. Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanic!
  12. Maybe they are going to use it as an advertising vehicle.
  13. I went to school for broadcasting and our school TV station had 1 news program, 2 gameshows, and like 6 sports shows that we filmed every week. Just based on those guys that did the sports shows, sports broadcasters are DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMB. None of them had insight, it was all the same cliche crap like "put the bat on the ball," "protect the quarterback," etc in their analysis of games. The face that those keys to the game are so stupid does not surprise me.
  14. I've very interested in seeing how this turns out.
  15. I don't feel like Gibby is the problem. Our starters didn't do half bad but how do you manage a lineup of guys that should be on the DL but aren't and AAAA fodder? That's on management.
  16. After JD questions Gibby's use of the bullpen, Gibby challenges him to a fight, which happens and JD trips on a seam in the turf and hurts himself. Both are labeled "competitors" and neither are disciplined.
