    I started an expansion franchise and I'm a couple seasons in and just lost the AL wildcard game to the Yankees. I'll tell you what, trades in this game can be very difficult. I was trying to get Bo Bichette from the O's my first 2 years and they wanted absolutely no one in my system.

    2/$30 wouldn't cripple us with the understanding that he will see very little time in the corner outfield, primarily 1st base, and some DH.

    I used to be a big card nerd back in the day but now only collect Blue Jays cards, and typically only game used/certified autographed cards. Even though I'm not a huge collector anymore I have quite a bit more than I thought I did. It brings out the kid in me.

    It's all in good fun FrozenRopes. If I remember correctly Josh Donaldson actually acknowledged our presence because of the Hottness list. Also, I've learned from college that as long as you say No Homo after something you can pretty much say or do anything and it won't be considered gay.

    Didn't we wait until the opening day roster was out to do it last year?

    I'd imagine that most teams don't because they realize that only a small percentage of these prospects will even make it to the states so they want to keep their investment down. I feel like it's similar to what Dirk said in one of his books where the pregame meal spread was a small plate of cold cuts (or was it PB&J)?

    Yah I remember reading this. It's such a shame that these kids really get the short end of the stick. Unless they are well regarded prospects they will be at a disadvantage the rest of their lives.

    This really should happen. I don't know how many guys my age (30) still have no ability to follow instructions to cook something and these players are barely old enough to drive a car legally. I wonder if the Blue Jays presence in Latin America grows if they would consider using their complex as a baseball factory/school were these kids can be taught how to cook, manage money, English, etc.

    I'd imagine he'd agree to play 1st if it gets him the money he thinks he should get. If we could get him back for a couple years that rotation makes sense. Use a shift system to make up for his lack of range in LF/RF.

    I don't know enough about our system to make one but I do enjoy reading everyone's opinion. When spring training breaks are we going to do another Hottest Jays list?

    Do we tender Thole and try to trade him to the Braves?

    Don't let the homers fool you. EE/Bautista have turned into great hitters who hit a lot of home runs. Trumbo punched out more and walked less than EE last year. If he had even a little defensive versatility then I can understand wanting him but he's pretty much a DH or occasional 1B. No thanks.

    With the ability to play all 3 outfield positions plus SS and most likely the rest of the infield I think we could get decent value from him.

    We gave out 2 kinds of peanut butter cups, Hershey bars, and Milky Ways here. Giving out candy in Philly is so annoying sometimes. Each area is incredibly different. I've lived in 8 parts of the city and have had 0 trick-or-treaters in 1 area and several hundred in an area less than a quarter mile away. We probably had about 2 dozen treaters last night. The roommates and I had a lot of candy left over, and just two pieces this morning.

    I think that's the point of the tests. They'll show them to Adam Lind's mom and everything will be made better.

    I wouldn't be against trying to get Anthony DeSclafani back if the price is right.
