  1. 10 runs on 15 hits on the way.
  2. Agreed except I don't see how Pillar's untouchable. In fact, given that he's still cheap, and he's good defensively, I'd trade him now if the Jays were going the rebuild route. Not too long from now he'll lose a step and be ordinary defensively while being a bad hitter.
  3. The Jays are hitting .190/.271/.277. Holy s***. Has the whole team contracted mono?
  4. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-blue-jays-upcoming-quandary/
  5. Apparently still with the neck thing. Hopefully that's the reason for the lower velocity in spring, and it's not an arm problem. Who's the closer right now, Grilli or Biagini?
  6. We're never gonna be rid of Goins.
  7. Looks like the Reds are gearing up for a good year
  8. why I never like to throw huge money at pitchers....
  9. trouble in paradise
  10. Just got himself injured with more bad fielding.
  11. Urena's looking bloody awful...
  12. Article by Verducci today about rule changes: http://www.si.com/mlb/2017/02/22/rob-manfred-mlb-rules-changes-mlbpa-tony-clark This is interesting: So Manfred can impose changes after a year, as long as he notifies the MLBPA. Also this:
  13. Twitter tells me last year it was the left calf muscle that was the problem, this year it's the right. Then there's this So a bit more than mild.
  14. That is fascinating. I don't remember a Shazaam movie, but this: I had a Berenstein Bears book when I was a kid in the eighties. I thought it was spelled with an 'e'. Of course I don't have that book anymore.... This topic reminds me of the Thunderbird photo that a lot of people swear they've seen but no one has ever located. Memory is a weird thing. A lot of research has shown memories are not nearly as accurate as people used to think, and they can involve a lot of confabulation.
  15. They really like Smoak.
  16. Normally this wouldn't be that concerning, but didn't Donaldson have some calf issues last year?
  17. Jered Weaver signs with the Padres. Kind of weird to think of an Angels team without him on it.
  18. Manfred is OUTTA CONTROL Actually seriously while this idea feels gimmicky, it's not really any more so than the 3 on 3 NHL overtime. I can see the point in trying to end regular season games in some way so the fans that attend can see some kind of resolution without having to stay to all hours. At least it's not the baseball equivalent of a shootout, which I guess would be a homerun derby. Problem is, if you start with a runner on 2B, it's going to lead to a lot of sac bunts and IBB, which are boring.
  19. I'm all for speeding up the game, but this particular change just seems pointless. There aren't enough IBB for this to matter. Maybe they'll take home trots away too *barf* It feels like MLB isn't willing to enforce the things that really would help pace, so they came up with this rather pointless thing just to make it seem like they're doing something.
