  1. Imagine if the series had playoff implications.
  2. I don't get this. They're slamming him for getting on base a lot? Avoiding outs?
  3. Eh, I'm not really buying this is a problem at all. Compared to last year attendance is down slightly. But that will happen, it simply can't keep going up every single year. Probably almost all of that drop is blameable on the Yankees (bad off season, people expected that team to be weaker than it's been in a while), Boston (coming off a 93 loss season) Miami (FIRESALE!), as well as worse weather than last year. April and May were really unseasonably cool, and already many more rainouts/delays than all of last year. MLB is in a golden age when it comes to attendance. Look at the numbers for the 1980s and previous.
  4. Royals up big against Minnesota.
  5. Pettitte's given up 5 runs on 8 hits....still the 2nd inning
  6. Jeter with Grade I calf strain
  7. The guy who broke this story back in the off season (someone at a non baseball site) actually mentioned Cano as one of the violators. That would be hilarious.
  8. Royals are 3 wins over .500
  9. Buck is always making up conversations he thinks the players are having
  10. get the f*** outta here
  11. I agree. Hype and buzz won't do it anymore. Actually, I'm surprised it worked so well as it did. I really thought the Jays would have to be winning (like, in playoff contention in August/Sept) for everyone to jump on the bandwagon again. Instead the added wildcard a couple years ago and the off season moves last year were enough. Now, that's all going away. The team will have to win for them to start coming back, imo.
  12. Rosenthal says the Angels would seek a starter under multi year control for Kendrick. So. Give em Buerhle.
  13. Bautista is a whiny little bitch.
  14. Yeah you can. Failed in the sense that he didn't make it as a starter. And that's where almost all MLB relief pitchers come from.
  15. A lot of this is obvious, but I hope #2 is true
  16. I think I posted on battersbox Tampa Toronto New York Boston/Baltimore (can't remember the order) I did have the division really close, like 9 or 10 games separating first and last.
  17. What happened to Jesse Carlson?
