    I like this trade a lot better than the Lind/Estrada one, that's for sure. Travis seems to be a legit prospect (Keith Law notwithstanding), which is better than I thought they'd get for Gose straight up. His numbers in AA last year are pretty solid, though I wish he did that at age 20 or 21 rather than 23. He's a 2B who seems to have an actual hit tool, unlike Gose. I'll take it.

    Yep, Jays in on Vmart now. Of course they are "in on" everyone but in the end the dollars and term won't match up and wouldn't be good "value", but they can at least say they were in on them. Anyway, apparently Russell Martin wants some money:

    I gotta say that seems like a pretty nice deal for Baltimore. They're not tied into him for that long either. Gotta say it seems unusual to work out a contract extension during a playoff run. I can't recall that happening much.

    A few weeks ago the Yankees said publically they intend to renew Cashman's contract.

    So we went from potentially three tiebreaker scenarios to none. Oh well. Oak at KC on Tuesday should be fun.

    KC one game behind Detroit, Pittsburgh one game behind Saint Loo, Sea one game behind Oak for 2nd wildcard. But could have some tie breakers comin up.

    I believe the last year the Jays finished 2nd was the last year that no wildcard came out of this division :/

    I've become a real fan of Buerhle over the last couple seasons. Mostly for his no ******** attitude and M.O. Just get the ball, get the sign, throw it. No fuss, no muss.

    Yeah..far from a stud at this point. He is still young and this is his first full ML season and coming off the TJS, so we'll see. At this point though he seems to have the ceiling more of a mid-rotation starter. Hutch doesn't quite have the command or stuff to be an upper echelon guy.
