  1. I'd like to take Wade Miley too and stick them with Dickey. But they'd probably want us to take Hill at a minimum.
  2. Wonder what the asking price is now for Reddick or Shark? Considering what Beane has gotten from the other trades
  3. Hopefully Donaldson has been speaking with Shields recently too.
  4. I've heard the same. The trades that do come from the meetings will be interesting to see if solely for the domino effect that I'm sure will involve us. Really it's Lester who's got to be signed first then market will develop for Schrezer and Shields. Positional players I fully expect Matt Kemp to be moved in by the end of the meetings.
  5. Pardon my ignorance, but what happened to our draft pick DJ Davis?
  6. It doesn't - I'm just saying my prayer out loud, lol.
  7. I was JUST thinking him (De La Rosa from Colorado, not Hamels lol). Projected 2.4 WAR, making $11 million (compared to Dickey's $12.5). LHP. All good. EDIT: Maybe they can take Michael McKenry with De La Rosa and flip back Josh Thole
  8. I have a feeling that AA will trade Dickey for a #2 (I pray for Cueto) AND still sign a #1 (Shields). Move Stro and Hutch into #4/5 slots with depth in case those guys falter.
  9. Even better: Nick Markakis to the Braves! http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/braves-to-sign-nick-markakis.html It's coming up Millhouse!
  10. Somebody post Jonah Keri's Twitter reaction of the deal. Lol
  11. Ready to read insanity? This from some guy that comment section from ESPN's headline on the deal: "As a bluejays fan, I'm getting dizzy with all these stupid moves. Trade Lind for junk. Trade Lawrie w 4 prospects for a 3rd baseman who's 4 years older than Lawrie, & now trade one of best pitchers?? I don't get how this is a winning formula, looks like it's back to cellar for Toronto."
  12. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I've been checking this message board and MLBTR constantly for the past 5 hours and the one time I leave my desk!!! HOOORRRAYYYY!!! Just as I wanted! EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!
  13. A deal brewing!!!
  14. With all these guys non-tendered I hope AA sees the value in these guys compared to some of the scrubs we have.
  15. Kinda drives me crazy that Seattle has a player who by all arguments they don't want anymore and would like to trade (Saunders) and the Jays have a glaring need for an OF. How has this deal not already been done? When it makes so much sense for both sides surely you'd think they could make a deal that works.
  16. Offence can carry you only so far. I don't think it's only goofy fans like us saying it - a legit #1 starter is what outside observers see as one of the Jays needs. I wouldn't put that at the top of the list as a hole to fill (that's what she said) but I wouldn't disregard it like it's some crazy notion either.
  17. Markakis unlikely to sign back with Orioles! http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/markakis-no-longer-likely-to-re-sign-with-orioles.html
  18. I wish we could poach Ben Zobrist out of Tampa.
  19. Hey fellas, Article up on MLBTR http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/mariners-still-seeking-right-fielder.html *scroll scroll scroll to the bottom and....* Should the Mariners think on a larger scale, Melky Cabrera remains a free agent, and the price for parting with him is now slightly diminished, as Seattle would only need part with its second pick after forfeiting the No. 19 pick to sign Cruz. In addition to the names listed, the Mariners do have a fairly strong in-house candidate in the form of Michael Saunders. However, Saunders is a left-handed bat and his relationship with the organization was strained after some postseason comments from GM Jack Zduriencik and manager Lloyd McClendon. The Mariners were said to be shopping Saunders as recently as last month’s GM Meetings, and those talks could of course be revisited at next week’s Winter Meetings. Get in there AA
  20. Could be nothing, but I went onto Fangraphs to check on Callapso's Steamer projection (a 1.0 WAR, .252/.326/.354) and for some reason Ricky Romero's one of the top listed players search. It also has (starting from top down) Josh Donaldson, Allberto Callapso, Brett Lawrie, Torii Hunter, Ricky Romero, Max Schrezer, Brian Duensing, Yoenis Cespedes, Jeff Samardzija, and Clayton Kershaw. All those guys are normally newsworthy - whether it's a recent trade or free agent. I dunno, very strange.
  21. Time will tell what it takes to pry a #1/2 off a seemingly non-contender, but realistically the Jays need a front line starter. If they have visions of World Series all the recent past winners have had some kind of bonafield ace and if you want to win now, you either buy that guy or trade for that guy. Dickey and Buehrle are no longer aces.
  22. I don't know about predictions (apparently, as my 2014/15 record in the FAP will say) but I know what AA needs to do: 1 - Sign dat front line starter (Preference of Lester/Shields/Scherzer) 2 - Trade for a #2 rotation pitcher (ie Cueto/Hamels) 3 - Trade/Sign a 2B (Phillips/Murphy/Lowrie/Utley) 4 - FIx dat bullpen (Not necessarily Miller - although that'd be awesome.) But however he can get it together 5 - Resign Melky or Trade for Saunders

  24. Sounds like the door isn't completely closed (according to Peter Greenburg)
  25. It is literally the Argos holding this up.
