  1. If Bruce were on this team he'd be our 6th best OF.
  2. The bullpen will be fine. Doesn't look great right now but it also isn't exactly terrible either. We've got a couple months until ST starts to tinker with it as well.
  3. I don't really know how to gauge how well starters translate in to the bullpen. Hernandez is a little bit better than replacement level as a starter. I also think with our elite infield defense and whatever effects the "slow turf" has makes him a good fit for our team since he has a good GB%. Could he be the long man for us? Probably not ideal but we could also probably do worse. I'm not sure what to say about Penny. You'd think at this point he'd have tried relieving already if anyone thought he'd be any good at it.
  4. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25430538/mlb-to-offer-single-team-mlbtv-packages-in-2016 I don't know how beneficial this is to all you Canucks with the blackout policy but for someone living in the States this is pretty cool. I actually think 130 bucks for all games is a hell of a deal but I don't have any time to watch games other than Jays games. If it's significantly cheaper a single team package would be pretty neat.
  5. They have the top 3 K/9 pitchers from last season now in Chapman, Miller and Betances.
  6. Not a bad list at all but I think Stroman and Pillar are getting too much love and Bautista is too far down. I also don't agree with your stance on age - men age like wine women age like milk. But I guess it would explain why you give a lot of love to Stroman and Pillar and hate on Bautista and Martin.
  7. Michael Saunders was jobbed. Clearly better looking than Pillar and I will fight anyone who disagrees.
  8. Travis should be in the ugly tier IMO. Looks like a homeless munchkin. Revere is right where he belongs. Too much babyface to be any higher.
  9. He should have called in sick today.
  10. That's really hard to do. There are a lot of teams that lose for a long time and never get out of that rut.
  11. Just do a one time dump.
  12. Ah I see, he has an opt out. Perhaps he could be the long man.
  13. That Hernandez signing isn't half bad. He projects to be a half win player next year in just 21 starts. That's actually a nice little improvement over whoever else was supposed to be our 7th starter.
  14. I'd like to see Hutch in there instead and perhaps Hernandez or Penny in the bullpen as the longman. If we grab another longman which I would prefer I wouldn't mind trying out Penny in a one inning relief role.
  15. Jays get Brad Penny on a minor league deal.
  16. Eh I get that he's trying to protect the quality of the list but choking participation like that will also choke interest IMO.
  17. The current fanbase has such a short memory, perhaps bc they are bandwaggoners and just joined. But there were multiple offseasons and trade deadlines where we were begging AA to make some moves and would have been rejoicing had he acquired a couple of starting pitchers prior to the holidays.
  18. I'm way more excited for these rankings to be released than I was the top prospects list.
  19. From the votes I've seen so far Michael Saunders is getting jobbed. Should be much higher.
  20. Rankings submitted. It's pretty easy to kind of group them in terms of "hot" "kind of hot" "average" "ugly" but ranking them individually is hard.
  21. We could do that. It would be a bigger undertaking though because none of us know who they are.
  22. Yeah for sure. AA got lucky as f***. He went all in when the team was 7 games back and all his moves hit and we won the division. If he went all in and it backfired he'd never have gotten another GM job again. Instead he's hailed as a genius. He's the one who hamstrung the current regime and would have been in the same spot if he had stayed.
  23. Yeah that's good analysis. We don't really offer him much meaning we'd have to offer him more money than anyone else and I don't see that happening.
