  1. Damn, that's Thole's 1st homer at any level since 2013.
  2. Just logged in to see if anyone else noticed those inbred Floridian kids that they showed on tv?
  3. Yeah once they give Gibby the 25 it's up to him. But I don't understand the decisions today to give him this 25.
  4. With the emergence of Floyd and then Sanchez actually looking like a viable SP candidate, that Hendricks for Chavez trade is looking like a huge dud. Traded 4 years of a really good reliever for 1 year of a longman.
  5. True but that was Vegas. Does the wRC+ account for that? The projections for him are terrible.
  6. What terrible options. I wonder if there is anyone available via trade.
  7. The one thing Gibbons seems to understand, correct me if I'm wrong, is splits so I think he'd use him effectively.
  8. Gossage once got in a fight with a teammate and injured himself. He was out for 6 weeks. Not sure why fighting a teammate is ok in his book.
  9. Better off ignoring all of it then taking anything from it.
  10. DC isn't so bad. Lots of touristy s*** to see but if you don't give a s*** about American history it might not be that great.
  11. Probably the ideal scenario.
  12. Let's say Pompey is sent down, Zeke is the 4th OF. Is Zeke the backup CFer? Yuck! Although like you said Pillar should hit close to 162 and if he gets hurt Pompey can play CF. I just worry Pillar ends up with some nagging injuries and we see Zeke or even worse Bautista in CF.
  13. So are we really not going to pick up another OF? If Pompey doesn't win the LF job, Gibbons said he's going down to AAA. Who would our 4th OF be? Do we even have one who can play CF?
  14. The definition of mediocre according to Google is "of only moderate quality; not very good." Average is "of the usual or ordinary standard, level, or quantity." Although the definition of average also includes mediocre. So I suppose the terms can be interchangeable.
  15. I voted mediocre because it was the closest option to average. I liked the direction more than anything. We've got our own guys we need to lock up long term so not adding any big salaries was helpful. I also liked most of the moves (not necessarily the Hendricks trade). But no major improvements happened, we merely patched some holes so hard to grade it higher than that for me.
  16. Good comments by Shapiro. Didn't say anything to fan the flames.
  17. It's called a take it or leave it offer.
  18. Well it's even worse, Bautista said he wouldn't even allow them to counter or negotiate. Although that might have been posturing as I'm sure he would have allowed some wiggle room if they Jays got close to matching, right?
  19. Now Rosenthal is seconding it. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 9m9 minutes ago Hearing same as @jonheyman: Bautista asked #BlueJays for more than 5 yrs and more than $150M. But average annual value was below $30M per.
  20. I wonder how many of those minor league guys can leave if they don't make the big league team?
  21. Yeah that Hendricks trade wasn't the best. That's also interesting about Happ getting more than Gallardo; I didn't think of that before. I honestly might prefer Happ but you would think Happ's market would be smaller than Gallardo's.
  22. The rotation was in shambles to start the offseason. And not only the big league rotation but the AAA rotation as well. I like the FO's approach to add several options on shorter term deals in order to build depth. We will need 8+ starting pitchers this season and I think the FO did the best they could in getting that 8.
