    See this is the main argument against Dickey. He's annoying to watch. I mean I get it but running a team that way doesn't make sense.

    This pretty much sums up the irrational Dickey hate on this board.

    The idea that Thole and Dickey are siamese twins and must be on the same team together is a fallacy. Dickey has used several catchers throughout his career. We can find a better backup C who can also catch the knuckleball. No one likes Dickey because he's goofy looking and annoying as f*** to watch pitch but I don't give a s*** about that stuff. He's effective for a backend SP and he provides the "Dickey Effect" on top of it.

    Why trade Dickey? Our depth isn't that great. We've basically got one big league starter in AAA and that guy is already slated to return to the rotation once Sanchez heads to the bullpen. If anything I say we extend Dickey right now. 1 year, 8 mil with an option for 8 mil again and a 1 mil buyout. He's been a good pitcher for us.

    After the Sox series the schedule isn't too bad. June has a ton of road games but we don't run in to any elite teams and we play 9 national league games against the D-Backs, Phillies and Rockies. Then in July we finish the first half of the season with 11 straight home games against AL Central teams before the break.

    Offense slowly turning a corner. Starting pitching continues to perform strong. Barney and Carrera providing decent play off the much maligned bench. Biagini, Floyd, etc. stabilizing the bullpen. Cecil starting to throw. Shatkins just made a nifty trade. Should pass the O's for 2nd place sometime in the next week or two at this rate. Man what a difference two weeks makes. Feels good.

    According to Cot's he had 4.085 years of service time entering this year. If he gets a full year this year that would mean he's got one more year of arbitration I believe.

    Despite the 5 game losing streak the Jays finish the month of May at 17-12. Fangraphs Playoff Odds up to 42.9%.

    You just proved his point by listing only 3 relievers on the entire team that are better than him. In other words, we just acquired what is now our 4th best reliever for nothing.

    Woops I copied down his numbers vs. righties, not his numbers in may. Regardless he hasn't been that bad in May. His GB% in May has been abysmal but he's struck out 14 per 9.

    Didn't see he had that option. If his May is a sign of things to come that team option would be very handy.

    Coming off a major injury and was horrible in April as he was perhaps shaking the dust off. In May he's got a 3.84 xFIP with a 12.34 K/9 and a 3.86 BB/9. Jays only paying the MLB minimum salary, the Braves are paying the rest. Assuming the prospect we gave up was a nobody I like this deal. EDIT: He's also dominating right handed batters to the tune of a .265 wOBA.

    Matt Bush didn't get suspended any games.

    The suspensions have been all over the map. Odor getting 7 is laughable but they mishandled the Jays suspensions as well. How the hell does Bautista get suspended for taking a shot to the jaw but Pillar doesn't get a single game for throwing about dozen punches at 2 or 3 different players?

    Get A-Rod out please. Don't want to face McCann with that short porch and the tying run at the plate.
