  1. Lol, Gregor Chisholm accidentally retweeted a fake Buster Olney account regarding Santana to the Jays being a done deal and the Fan is now reporting it.
  2. 6 man rotation could be interesting. Gives rest to Estrada and Sanchez.
  3. He's the classic example of a steady-yet-unimpressive innings-eater who doesn't put up a flashy strikeout rate or ERA but at the end of the year his decent 200 innings are worth around 2.5 WAR.
  4. Santana isn't that bad. He's kind of old but his contract situation is kind of alright. Seems to be good for 2.5+ WAR per season. If he gets busted for roids again though he's gone for a year. Assuming we didn't have to give up much I'd take him.
  5. I'm often at the office late and will listen to the games on the radio. We've got a really good radio team imo.
  6. I never realized this but Jose Bautista holds a record by appearing on 5 major league rosters in one season. In 2004 he played for the Orioles, Rays, Royals and Pirates and was briefly on the Mets for about 5 minutes in between trades.
  7. Hill not making his Sunday start. His value has to be in the toilet right now. They might be able to try and trade him in August I guess but his salary is so low he'd get claimed in a hurry which would limit the A's return.
  8. Stroman is similar to Sanchez. He's never thrown a ton of innings either yet there's no talk of a limit with him. As you said, Dickey is a weak link as well. If they do acquire Hill they should keep Sanchez in the rotation and do something with one of those two. Probably put Dickey in the pen as the long man. The Dickey-Thole battery though kind of throws a wrinkle in that though.
  9. Logan is a FA at the end of the year as well. He'd be a nifty acquisition though. We could really use a reliable lefty.
  10. Kratz used to be solid but he's too old now.
  11. Maybe a rental reliever? But I doubt one that's very good.
  12. Don't let a couple of starts change your mind. Just means we have a little better leverage now. Extend Dickey!
  13. I know almost nothing about Dickerson but I fear him when he steps to the plate.
  14. Tabler will praise the move tomorrow because he's a "veteran who can pitch."
  15. It's Osuna at the top because he's clearly the best. Then Gibby ranks them in descending order starting with the oldest. Grilli is 39 and 8 months, Benoit just turned 39. So Grilli gets the 8th and Benoit gets the 7th.
  16. One negative aspect is that Gibby had quit using Storen but now he'll immediately throw Benoit in to high leverage situations just because he can.
  17. Yes a comic book. And yeah it's Batman villains who are coerced to team up and do good for the government.
  18. Upton over Bautista/Saunders is about the equivalent of replacing an average CF with Kevin Kiermaier.
  19. Well I read that he was on the verge of being traded. Perhaps as early as tomorrow. But him starting probably means they don't really like their offers right now.
  20. You've had a lot of caffeine today.
