  1. If we can eek out a win after them doing that I would be ecstatic. That said that's quite the gauntlet. lol
  2. Yeah and another bullpen game for Game 5? Not sure how effective Kluber will be for 2 games in a row on short rest while nursing a groin injury. If they Jays can't take advantage of this situation then I won't even be upset because they simply wouldn't deserve to advance anyway.
  3. We have a bunch of savage hockey buffoons for baseball fans.
  4. Yeah exactly. It's tempting to leave Bauer in the game and have him give up a meatball with the wounded hand but 8 1/3 of the bullpen sounds good to me. We play 3 in a row here. This game hurts them.
  5. Good job Gibby. Make them take him out in the first. Bullpen game for the Indians. And lol @ the blind ump. "Oh really I'll take a look at it."
  6. He's gotta come out.
  7. Hopefully he throws and gets shelled while preventing his finger from healing up properly (just for this series) and can't go again the rest of the series.
  8. I wonder how long Bauer lasts? Was he able to get throw days in previously? We've got to get to him early if he's in bad shape like this.
  9. I don't know, just win tonight and sort it out later. If Bauer gets though 5 he must be doing pretty well. Hopefully he doesn't get through 1.
  10. Update on Cleveland's pitching: If Trevor Bauer gets through tonight's game OK, the Indians will start Ryan Merritt in Game 4. If Bauer has to leave early because of his finger injury or ineffectiveness, Mike Clevinger and others will be available to back him up and the Indians will come back with Corey Kluber on short rest in Game 4. Then Merritt would pitch Game 5 Wednesday. Jerry Crasnick, ESPN Senior Writer
  11. Not sure if this has been posted yet but here's the roster for the ALCS. Smoak couldn't make the cut. That extension looks horrible right now.
  12. Zips is predicting a very close series with the Indians having a slight edge. http://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/17783462/favored-win-alcs-projections-suggest-close-series-mlb
  13. That's good to hear but my guess is that it's subject to change.
  14. It wouldn't surprise me if he or the team were lying about the reason for the injury. I have a very good source regarding a pretty major injury last season which the team lied about with the player's permission.
  15. Someone may know better than I but my guess is that prices drop closer to game time. The fees and/or upcharging involved with the secondary market generally make it so that it isn't profitable to buy and sell in the secondary market. Scalpers usually just try to snatch as many up as possible when they initially go on sale at face value and then they sell from that amount rather than doing some sort of secondary ticket exchange where they buy and sell tickets numerous times before the game.
  16. The Cult of the Baseball Executive is enough to make me cheer against them. I think I saw enough shots of Theo Esptein to last a lifetime.
  17. Oh it barely makes a difference who we played. I'm nervous as hell. Kluber, Miller, and Allen probably throw over 50% of their innings? My hope is that Francona's strategy backfires and they wear out a little bit. But they have a good offense too. Really balanced from both sides of the plate and pretty solid hitting 1-9. They have homefield advantage as well.
  18. Well I forgot what Cowherd said exactly but upon reflection I could see people being legitimately offended. Didn't he say that baseball players are all stupid because a lot of them are Dominican and Dominicans have s***** schools? Lol that's pretty bad. But for a lot of this stuff it is phony- for example putting forth outrage over the "dresses" comment is phony and no one could convince me otherwise.
  19. Jays currently a -130 favorite to win the series vs. the Indians. Fangraphs playoff odds has us at a 59% chance to win the ALCS - not sure if that factors in the Indians injuries or not.
  20. Gary Sheffield was one of the people laughing. Not sure on the others. But yeah those are good points, I can respect that. I will give you kudos for being consistent. He would absolutely be gone if he made insensitive jokes about blacks or gays. My guess is that Pedro being Afro-Caribbean is also a factor in whether he has to go or not. A white guy would have been fired immediately. I just think that this stuff is too often followed by phony outrage when in reality it was a stupid joke. I personally wouldn't have cared if it were a similarly dumb joke about blacks, gays, white people, etc. It reminds me of people actually being upset about Gibbons' "dresses" comment. Who really cares? But again, if people are going to be upset by that stuff they should be upset about Native American jokes as well. I also didn't know that but it doesn't change my position. Just because he's a perpetrator of phony outrage doesn't mean I want the cycle to continue.
  21. Well then they should fire his colleagues too as they found it hilarious. Or better yet...calmer heads should prevail and they should just let him apologize on air and keep his job. He's just joking around, no need to trash him over it.
  22. Is there a link for that anywhere?
  23. Andrus bat flipped on a single in Game 2 as well. They are just butthurt crybabies.
