  1. It's not a perfect fit but the Jays are more of an extension of the Expos than the Nats IMO. And since he works for the Jays it only adds to it making sense IMO. But yeah that's a good point, the Jays are probably the most anti-bring the Expos back franchise in baseball for monetary reasons.
  2. I don't think we can really evaluate the inside of his head to figure out if he puts more pressure on himself when hitting in a certain spot in the lineup. But regardless I'm not sure we really have a many options for leadoff and that's why Gibbons went with him.
  3. Peralta has been pretty good his past dozen starts. I'm kind of worried about this game.
  4. Is there any update on Donaldson other than the lineup? Is he available to pinch hit?
  5. Well yeah I think he should be called up. I like that he can play the OF as well. No reason to put Barney out there which we've already seen.
  6. I don't really mind it considering the options. Goins vs RHP probably is about as good as Barney vs. RHP. Goins seems to have a better arm sp he might even be better defensively at 3B.
  7. Yeah I know it was just poorly worded but the way he said it made it sound like he had a chance.
  8. Yeah an opposing anonymous scout wrote it in the Sports Illustrated Baseball Preview. For each team preview they have a blurb written by an opposing scout and that's what he said about Pillar.
  9. Those scouting quotes are so stupid. The one on the Jays about Pillar made me laugh. "If the offense catches up to the defense he's Mike Trout." lol
  10. He doesn't give good at bats either.
  11. I forgot we used to have him. If there truly is a trade partner for Goins as rumored they should move him for whatever they can get and just promote Kelly. The projections have him pegged for an 85-88 wRC+. He's a switch hitter with no discernible splits and plays every position but C and P.
  12. Sparkman was transferred to the 60-day DL to make room for him which in itself is a good move. Here is fangraphs' profile on Kelly: Seems like this guy would be an improvement over Goins.
  13. It's the 12th inning. Going to have to pitch nearly everyone. Walking the bases loaded and making it even harder on him is the decision to question.
  14. I like Manny Act. He'd be a good fit for this board as he's a sabremetric-friendly manager.
  15. There are varying degrees of anxiety issues, some of which can be clinically diagnosed. I'm not going to completely change my opinion of JPA bc he claims anxiety but it will be interesting to hear him out on it is all I meant. I mean this is No Suits Required here. We are getting in to the nitty gritty. We are talking about behind the scenes type stuff that only a man of Barry's talents will be able to navigate. You think JPA and Pat Tabler talk about this stuff? No way, they probably only talked about RBI.
  16. The new promo for the podcast actually makes this sound pretty interesting. JPA discussing anxiety issues. Maybe that's why he was so arrogant when he was here. He was trying to mask that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jxr3E6OomY
  17. Is there going to be any sort of structure to this or are we just going to rapid fire all our questions at him and he can reply with a quote to the ones he wants to answer? I have about a dozen questions I could ask. I swear none of them are trolling.
  18. Orioles Hangout on suicide watch because we are about to eclipse their Real Life Celebrity with an even bigger Real Life Celebrity. They may have won the the first two games of the year but they are going to lose the Real Life Celebrity contest.
  19. We could do a Barry Davis AMA maybe? That would be cool if we could turn it in to a monthly thing or something.
  20. Souza needs to start reading more fangraphs dot com. He probably already does because he plays for the Rays though.
  21. Stroman's throw hung both of them out to dry.
  22. Awesome. I'm going straight to Orioles Hangout to brag as soon as he joins the board.
  23. Latest from Heyman: https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/inside-baseball-al-indians-next-extension-target/ Toronto Blue Jays -Angel Pagan appears to be a consideration for them. Their outfield looks like it could use some help from a depth perspective. Pagan turned down at least one majors deal earlier (but it was for well below his original $5 million asking price). -Chris Coghlan was a nice pickup on a minors deal after he declined to sign the Phillies’ request of a 45-day advance consent to be released at their wish anytime in the first 45 days. -The Jays are still considering backup catchers. Jarrod Saltalamacchia broke camp as the second catcher. They’ve been looking around for a second string backstop. -With Roberto Osuna out, Joe Biagini and Jason Grilli are the closing candidates.
