    That Kluber game is a tough matchup. Our #5 vs the top starter in the league. I like our matchups the other two games. Hopefully we can take 2 of 3.

    That's a good point and if Gift was being used as a defensive replacement most of the time then having an elite skill like that would be more useful. But he's not, he's basically being used as a typical backup infielder where he plays almost entire games at a time. So I want the best overall player - which at this point is sifting through trash but Espinosa could get back to being above replacement level but I don't think Gift ever will be.

    Espinosa with a couple of hits. If he shows anything at all he could swap places with Gift.

    Me too! They'll at least be retaining some of their talent as Chris Davis' 160 million dollar extension runs through 2022 (or 2037 if you count the deferments!).

    The Orioles have gotten a hit in only 1 out of their last 12 innings. They are terrible this year.

    Davis looks as clueless as Grichuk does.

    Grichuk looks awful. 3 fastballs over the meat of the plate and he strikes out on 3 straight pitches. I know it's early but I give this guy until the end of April before I consider moving toward Teoscar.

    Good start. Too bad Smoak and Pearce didn't advance and that ball that got away from the C.

    That is one ugly Jays lineup. Almost makes me wish Morales hadn't gotten hurt.

    I assume he just can't play defense in the OF either. Seems athletic enough to play a corner spot but my guess is that was tried and he was terrible so they put him at first where he is also terrible. He did win 4 gold gloves though, further cementing that award as glorified trash.

    It looks like crap today. At least we are playing the shitbird Orioles so we've still got a good chance to sweep.

    Donaldson, Martin and Travis all get days off. Supposedly just a day off for Donaldson to give him 2 in a row but it seems like this would have been a good day to get him in as the DH instead.

    Yeah I basically agree. It wasn't a bad start but it certainly wasn't as dominating of a start as you'd expect from someone taking a no-hitter into the 8th. 4.25 FIP and 5.67 xFIP.

    Yeah he's certainly not a slam dunk but he's really hard to get a read on due to his age and missing a whole season due to immigration issues. This is a huge year for him. Would love to see him develop into a solid 2 WAR player who can play almost anywhere.

    It was a good choice but I think my streak of never having been banned has increased quite a bit.

    That would probably make him a decent bench player. I haven't heard much about his defense? Is it actually bad?

    Lourdes Gurriel is off to a hot start which is encouraging.
  25. Terminator
    I think Shatkins and the FO both want to maintain the momentum that the franchise has built with the fanbase. Ownership might be a little more win-now but at the same time they don't necessarily want to up the payroll to make that fully happen. They both seem to be on the same page for the most part.
