  1. They actually got paid extra for those games against the Mariners? LOL
  2. I feel partly to blame because it all started when a little known and not very well respected poster admitted to everyone that he was clout chasing by taking swings at The Sheriff. But in my defense it was easy, all I had to do was list a few facts about Alejandro Kirk (way more impressive age 23 season than Mike Piazza btw) and he tied himself up into knots like a pretzel by going on a horrific and racist rant.
  3. LOL nice try pal. You tried taking “a little jab” at the Sheriff and instead you outed yourself as a racist. Let this be a lesson for ya, when you take a swing at the Sheriff you best not miss (ask real life celebrity Roy Firestone if you can even find him). Better luck next time.
  4. Jays are kind of a bad fit anyway. Logan O'Hoppe isn't THAT great but he's the Angels best prospect. They have a whole lot of needs and C would rank pretty far down the list so I think they'd want something other than Moreno or Kirk, if the Jays would even consider giving up one of those two.
  5. No it's true. Simonetti is legit.
  6. Yeah they are going to be good. Kiermaier coming off the books is like when Stanton finally comes off the Yankees books. Looks like a 3-team race with the Orioles possibly able to make some noise as well. Red Sox a last placed team but probably pretty good for a last placed team.
  7. If they do lose Judge they'll use that money on other pieces. Not sure that makes them any better though. They will reload and I'd imagine they will spend quite a bit. They have in house options to replace SS so that will save them money. Depending on how the offseasons go the Jays could come into the season as the AL East favorites but we'll see.
  8. How good are the Yankees going to be next year?
  9. The 2021 Braves were garbage and one of the worst teams to ever win the World Series. Look at what they trotted out there to clinch it in game 6. 1. Eddie Rosario 2. Jorge Soler 3. Freeman 4. Austin Riley 5. Adam Duvall 6. Joc Pederson 7. Ozzie Albies 8. Travis d'Arnaud 9. Dansby Swanson Max Fried threw 6 innings followed by Tyler Matzek and Will Smith. I don't even know if Rosario, Soler and Duvall are in the league still. If they are they might not deserve to be. Fried is good but Matzek and Smith are pretty mediocre late inning relievers. That team got lucky as hell.
  10. The 2021 team was relying on turds like Soler and Duvall too. It's night and day.
  11. Britton played more games at C this year than OF which should help his stock some.
  12. In the regular season I think their better depth wins out. In a 7 game series where you go with 4 starters and you move everyone else to the pen then it's pretty close. Nola and Wheeler probably edge out Gausman and Manoah but it's close. Then it would be Suarez and Gibson vs. Stripling and Berrios. Also pretty close. I guess we can go with the Phillies but it's damn close. EDIT: Wait they are going with Bailey Falter in the playoffs not Gibson. Doesn't change much though.
  13. I think the Jays might be better than the Phillies in every aspect of the game other than the rotation. Better lineup, defense, bullpen and bench. Rotations are very similar talentwise. Probably have to call that a draw. Nola = Gausman Wheeler = Manoah Suarez < Stripling Gibson = Berrios
  14. Yeah I'm going for the Astros. The new playoff format seems to be good for casual fans but it does kind of suck that 85-89 win teams will seemingly be playing deep into the postseason almost every year now. Hopefully the Jays can at least get in on that in the future.
  15. Ross Atkins has the right approach. Just build a perennial playoff contender and something good will eventually happen.
  16. I wonder if he knows what splits are? My guess is yes.
  17. Yeah I could see the Marlins being interested in something like that. Their offense sucks and getting a C who can hit in the middle of the lineup will take some pressure off of having to find middle of the order bats for first and in the corner OF, something they've been struggling to do.
  18. You do realize that Suarez' double against Bass which lead off that inning had an xBA of .040 right? Tapia was shifted over which definitely played a factor but so does the fact that he sucks. Bass bears some responsibility but so does Tapia who shouldn't have even been in the game, the latter of which is Schneider's fault.
  19. Danny Jansen hasn't ever come close to putting up 4 WAR in a season (Kirk just did though and that's even with him getting heavily docked for playing 50 games at DH). I was just saying best case scenario was that IF Jansen did finally explode, would we really regret it if we only got a pitcher like Urquidy who puts up 5 WAR over 3 years in return? Particularly with Kirk and Moreno putting up similar production at Catcher at a lower cost? I doubt we'd be all that bothered by it. There's just not a ton of risk in trading Jansen to me. I'm not saying give him away but if we get an 80% return on value for him and it fills a position of need it's going to improve the team with little downside.
  20. Make sure to vote in the poll on whether or not the Jays should have brought him back Peter
