  1. Well maybe so but even if Kirk underperforms and Jansen overperforms, Kirk could STILL outproduce Jansen by 1.5 WAR. Like I said before, the difference in talent between Kirk and Jansen is greater than the difference in talent between silver slugger Teoscar Hernandez and a replacement level player. That's how much better 23 year old All-Star Alejandro Kirk is than oft-injured Danny "Mr. Magoo" Jansen.
  2. Reputable Jays insider reporting that Jansen is the MOST likely to be dealt and Kirk is the LEAST likely. Read it and weep Jansen fanboys.
  3. Imagine Danny Jansen catching Nate Pearson? What would the over/under be on how many innings before an injury occured?
  4. Well when Steamer is projecting a guy to be a full 2 WAR better than the other, it's probably worth paying attention to. You aren't smarter than Steamer my friend.
  5. If they are both here Jansen should be the primary DH. Injury prone and not as good of a framer.
  6. Lol this is rich coming from a guy who said extending Jansen would make him one of the most valuable assets in baseball. Dude projects for 2.5 WAR.
  7. Yeah it’s easy to sit there on your high horse and say we should trade a 23 year All-Star C with 4 years of control left who projects for 5 WAR next season because he’ll bring back a good SP. But who are you trading him for? Players like this don’t grow on trees. So please enlighten me on this “not very difficult to understand” trade youve got cooked up. I’m all ears.
  8. Ok genius we’ve got a 23 year old All-Star who projects for 5 WAR and you want to trade him because he’ll bring more value back? Lmao what comparable value are you going to get? Let’s hear some of these genius trade ideas you’ve got.
  9. I thought I was done with this topic but when I found out I was completely vindicated by Steamer I couldn't resist. Jansen fanboys once again on defense. Kirk >>>>> Jansen I know it, Steamer knows it and the All-Star voters know it. The only people that don't know it are the disgusting Jansen fanboys on this board. Hilarious how you all are in denial, "But IT'S the 2o22 numbers, Terminator!!!1 It's AIN't the '23 NuMBERS!!1" LMAO check those fangraphs pages again boys and take a nice big swig of that dose of reality you're getting. Courtesy of The Sheriff.
  10. 1. Wrong. It's the 2023 projections. No wonder you like Jansen so much, neither one of you can read small print. 2. So you think you are smarter than Steamer? 3. Nope, you're wrong it's the 2023 projections so this whole point of yours is whack.
  11. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/alejandro-kirk/22581/stats?position=C/DH Are you as blind as Danny "Mr. Magoo" Jansen? Go to his page and look. It has their 2023 projections right there.
  12. Ok so all trolling aside, the highly reputable Steamer Projections are out on Fangraphs for 2023 and the Jansen fanboys have some serious explaining to do. -Kirk projects to slash .285/.371/.467 with 4.5 WAR in 126 games. -Jansen projects to slash .260/.316/.455 and 2.5 WAR in 116 games. -Moreno projects to slash .267/.327/414 and 0.5 WAR in just 15 games. That's kind of crazy because if you extrapolate that out over 130 games that would 4.3 WAR. These numbers seem to back up what I've been saying all offseason. The difference in talent between Kirk and Jansen is about the same difference between Teoscar Hernandez (projects for 2.2 WAR) and a replacement level player we could pull from AAA.
  13. You know what you guys, I probably went too hard on the Jansen stuff but it was pretty good while it lasted! Got some classics in there plus it is rooted in the truth that he is the guy that should get dealt. That said, I've been cooking up some great stuff lately and I think you guys are REALLY going to like it. Even you, Jim.
  14. He's clearly the 3rd option and I don't see the team carrying 3 catchers. He needs to be traded. Otherwise I don't see how we handle this other than putting him in AAA. I guess we could start with him in the bigs and wait a couple of weeks until he gets hurt and then go with Moreno.
  15. Danny Jansen does in fact have 2 options left so if we can't find a trade partner for him we could stash him away in AAA in case Kirk or Moreno get hurt.
  16. With Kirk being an All-Star and Moreno being the #1 prospect in all of baseball there just isn't anywhere to play Jansen so he's an obvious trade candidate.
  17. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2023-top-50-free-agents/ Fangraphs Top 50 FAs article is out. Has the expert and crowdsourced contract estimates. Stripling's number is a little lower than I thought it would be. If we could get him back on a 3y/30M or 2y/22M deal I would bring him back.
  18. You guys are starting to talk me into keeping all 3.
  19. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere but this tweet spawned a lot of Kirk for Nootbar or Nolan Gorman talk on twitter today. Seems like most Cardinals fans think they are getting the short end of the stick on a trade like that. Can't say I agree with them though.
  20. Modern eyewear technology basically hasn't changed since the 1980s...will it be able to keep up with Mr. Magoo's continuously failing eyesight? That's the question no one is asking.
  21. Such a joke Baines got in lol 119 career wRC+ with most of his games at DH.
  22. Wow who called the fun police
  23. That's basically the theory but on top of it he was mostly a 2B and 3B in the minors prior to his debut. He even played some SS. So on Earth 2 Matt Stairs does all of the above only he does so as mostly a 2B during his 20s. That might push the WAR total up to 60 and he wouldn't need the 600 homers to get him in.
  24. Wow does that ever remind me of a story. Let's just say the year was 1982, the location was off St Laurent Blvd in Montreal and it involved one veeeeeerrrry close call and we'll leave it at that. lmao But anyway, have you guys ever heard the theory that there's an alternate universe out there where Matt Stairs made the Hall of Fame?
