  1. Speaking of moving the Rays, would we even want them to move to Montreal? Seems like that would be a negative for the Jays right? Or would it even matter that much?
  2. Why is probably worth exploring to see if it's fixable and IMO it's not given my stated reasons. But yeah you're right, they should move the team.
  3. I don't know where the animosity if coming from. It's an exciting time to for us Cavan Biggio fans! His bat is above league average for the first time since the pandemic and if he has a hot final two weeks he might actually crack 1 WAR on the year. What a stud!
  4. Part of the problem in Florida is how oversaturated it is with sports. 3 NFL teams, 2 MLB teams, 2 NBA teams and two NHL teams. 9 teams is a lot. On top of that, those pro sports also have to compete with college sports, especially college football which is probably the most popular sport in the state. So you can add in another 3 major teams (FSU, FU and Miami) to go along with another good team (UCF) and 3 other D1 teams (USF, FAU, FIU). Sports fans are getting spread pretty thin at this point. Then there are a lot of transplants as people mentioned, combined with a lot of those teams being pretty new and also not having a ton of success. Just not a great way to build up a generational fandom.
  5. Mitch White had another great start tonight. What the hell got into that guy?
  6. Mon: The playoffs will be easy to make Tues: The playoffs might not be easy to make Wed: We better win tomorrow or the playoffs won't be easy to make Thurs: The season is officially over Fri: The playoffs might just be easy to make after all
  7. lol they suck 16 out of 20 games come in and sweep us and go back to losing?
  8. holy s*** he did it
  9. for the love of god knock Kirk in
  10. Good luck Hurl, I poured everything I had into mine and it failed miserably
  11. When you are getting your ass kicked it can be hard to find the time to use your top relievers. Instead of using Richards would have been an easy spot. But otherwise he should have employed earlier hooks on guys. EDIT: Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
  12. Yeah toward the end of his next contract he's going to be playing good defense while hitting under the mendoza line. Easy pass.
  13. So true. Baseball is different than other sports in that you can't just get hyped up and go out there and crack skulls or try harder like in football or basketball. But you do need to have a competitive mindset to keep your brain sharp and John Schneider isn't exactly inspiring his troops into battle.
  14. Gibbons is out there in the playoffs playing 4D chess and you're playing checkers from your recliner pal. Gibbons knew the Rangers were going with the wheel play (because his "gut" told him) and he also knew that Elvis Andrus was on full tilt after his previous errors (also Gibby took one look at Andrus and could "see it in his eyes"). So he brilliantly called for the bunt down the third base line to force Andrus into making a play. And guess what? It worked brilliantly. Then you have the balls to come on to BJMB aka the Gibby Fan Club and criticize the guy for a play that worked? Wow
  15. Lol mention a manager and say he's not complete ass and the armchair BJMB managers will send you a half dozen posts within 30 seconds saying you're wrong I'm not a Dusty Baker fan in the slightest. I'm just saying for everyone dumping on Gibbons for using LaTroy Hawkins one time there are worse managers out there who are doing fine.
  16. Dusty Baker does pretty well for the Astros and he's hardly a good in-game strategist
  17. Just bring back Gibby. He's the perfect blend of a player's manager but he's not a pushover either. He knows enough about analytics but not too much to where he completely disregards the hot hand theory, i.e. pitching Richards who is struggling in a tight game last night.
  18. Stick a fork in these losers! Outscored 35-9 during the sweep. Here's some ideas for 2024: -Dump Schneider. He sealed his fate after he gave the most Low T answer of all time yesterday when he said he wasn't concerned after we got blown out. -Last offseason we broke up the barrio and added a bunch of guys with very vanilla personalities. Now we've got Varsho, Whit, Belt, etc. BORING. We need to get some ass kickers back on the team. Maybe bring back Donaldson to play some 3B. We should also add a crazy reliever. Someone with a penchant for starting brawls. Manoah was a good guy to have but no one takes him serious anymore after he ballooned up to 385 lbs. -We also need a shakeup trade. The Springer, Bo, Vlad Jr., Kirk, Jansen core has all been here for 3 years now and it ain't working. No idea who you trade and for what though. -Sign Joey Votto. I don't care just sign him. -Atkins is a toss up to me. I liked all his offseason moves. I think the player development is pretty solid. But for some reason the analytics just aren't translating into on field success for the veterans. This lineup should be pretty good and it's not.
  19. Outscored 35-9 in the 4 game series. Just a completely awful performance.
  20. In that first tweet he's talking about Vlad of course.
  21. Can't wait for the post-game Vlad ice bath after we win the game 5-2 and he goes 1-4 with a single, a GIDP, a groundball out and a 4 pitch K.
