    Yeah it's possible, especially with an injury. I think Manoah is probably the favorite to be the #5 unless he gets traded. The team will probably give him a mulligan but I don't know if there is going to be some sort of fight over his service time or not. He's either going to have 3 or 4 years of control left and if he can be a backend starter during that time (I think it's reasonable to expect that he can be) that's still pretty valuable. If the relationship is damaged and the team could get a 2 WAR OF with some control for him then maybe he gets dealt. If he does get dealt then we probably need to sign a #5 to a one year deal. As for the depth, Francis seems better than White but Francis has an option and White seems to be experiencing some sort of resurgence. And then we have Tiedemann waiting in the wings. So all told we don't have a ton of depth but I think the SP is in great shape heading in to next year. 4 guys that never get hurt, 3 decent big league ready #5/depth options, and then one of the top pitching prospects in AAA.

    Yeah I think so. And since he's out of options he'll need to be on the 25 man. I think you stretch White out coming in to ST and if he looks okay he breaks ST with the big league team as the long man. Shouldn't be a problem to squeeze him in if he's performing. Francis has one more option so he can go to AAA if needed.

    The rotation is setting up nicely for the playoffs. Gausman vs. King Berrios vs. Cole Bassitt vs. Weaver Ryu vs. Littell Kikuchi vs. Bradley Gausman vs. Rays Good chance we will have clinched by that final game so Gausman's last start can be skipped and we can head right into a Gausman, Berrios, Bassitt turn in the WC Round. Gausman will have an extra day of rest too which usually makes him even more effective.

    Jays would dominate any food performance competition. Especially if Manoah is available.

    It's not just your comments on us not officially clinching yet which are bad enough. I'll get to that in a sec. It's you saying that it's "f***ing delusional" and to "stop with the ********" for thinking that a playoff team (read it and weep, this team is going to the playoffs) has a shot to win the WS. Fangraphs like the Braves, the Dodgers and then considers us to have one of the best shots among AL teams despite having to go through the WC round. We've got a chance and you're slamming the door already by saying things like the team "hasn't won a playoff game". Well guess what buddy? The team hasn't even started the playoffs this year so how can you say we haven't even won a playoff game? And the playoffs are easy to make. If we don't win another game we still have a 59% chance to make the playoffs. Win 1 game and it jumps to 90%. 2 games and it's 99%. Win 3 and it's over. The Mariners are too far back and play too many other AL East teams to keep us out. It would, in fact, take the "worst collapse."     I would love that. Very old and very expensive 85 win team. Also, lol at Stanton in LF. If he could get through the season playing out there his OAA would rival Schwarber's.

    Some of that is them just trying to find ABs for everyone. They have a ton of infielders down there that need to play.

    Royals beat the Astros. Texas is going to win. It's over. Just a matter of when we clinch, not if. Print your playoff tickets and let's all hope we clinch against the Yankees so Aaron Boone and the rest of those dickwads can watch us celebrate on the field.

    Nope they could win zero and still have a good chance to get in. 1 win probably gets them in but 2 wins is basically a lock. AL West has too many games left against one another. Easy peasy.

    Speaking of #4 or 5 types, I could see the Jays acquiescing a bit and just using Manoah in that role with Francis, Mitch White and Tiedemann as the depth. That probably makes as much sense as signing a turd like Kyle Gibson to a 10 million dollar deal.

    We haven't clinched yet but it's getting close. If the scores hold we will have a 99% chance of making the playoffs.

    The playoffs are nearly a lock after these games go final. The Mariners will be 2.5 back of us with 7 games to go against the Rangers and Astros. They'd have to go on a massive run which would entail the Astros and Rangers racking up Ls.

    Jays are about to win the series against the Rays and the Rangers are about to sweep the Mariners. The Jays are going to the playoffs.

    Donaldson wouldn't be the worst idea. We could probably sign him for next to nothing and I think he'd be game to come back to Toronto to try and cement himself as a Jays legend. Not a level of excellence level kind of player but more as someone who is thought of like Edwin.

    QO offer to Chapman is a no brainer. Chad Green's options are tempting. I'd decline the 3 year, pray he takes the 1 year and then would strongly consider the 2 year option. He looks dominate lately and the market for setup men is insane so 2 years, 21 mil for him is not bad at all if he's healthy. He can be a multi-inning guy or a late inning guy and he's been one of the best relievers in baseball when healthy. Bringing him back would also allow us to trade a reliever for something. The rest of them can walk although I wouldn't hate the idea of bringing Kiermaier or Ryu back. The rotation will be interesting because if Manoah is healthy we'd have 5 already with Francis, Tiedemen and even Mitch White as depth.

    Yeah it's hard to wrap your head around it but the AL West playing each other so much helps us a ton. The worst case scenario is that one of the M's or Rangers go 3-4 but even if that happens we damn near hit our magic number anyway if we play .500 ball. If one of them goes 2-5 or worse they are basically screwed and it gives us a cushion.

    I wouldn't even say a 4-3 split is "very bad". It isn't ideal but the team that goes 3-4 is in serious trouble. They would need to sweep their other series AND get the Jays to go 5-5 or worse at this point.
