  1. 1 = Ohtani 4 = platoons all over
  2. Springer is probably good enough still to be a backup CFer for 15 games still. But if Varsho got hurt you wouldn't want him there for 60 games.
  3. Yeah he'd be a good 4th OF. But I think he can probably get a starting CF job somewhere.
  4. Sounds like Lee kind of sucks then.
  5. This one is fake but when Morosi tweets about Ohtani that one will be real
  6. Ha yeah him too. The Mariners are idiots. They fell for the ole offseason switcharoo where you trade a player and then replace him with a FA signing. It happens all the time in fan mock offseasons but it rarely happens in real life because most GMs aren't stupid enough to go for it. Why give up assets for a player when you can just dip into FA and get similar production? Dumn
  7. Daniels was fired prior to Bochy being hired.
  8. We hosed the Mariners in that Teo trade. Swanson put up 0.9 WAR on a $1.25M salary. Teo put up 1.8 WAR on a $14M salary. Teo is now a FA and they didn't even qualify him. Meanwhile we get two more years of Swanson. Easy W on that trade.
  9. Are there any sort of projections for Jung Hoo Lee? I don't think enough KBO guys have made the leap to offer anything reliable but I have no idea what one can expect from him.
  10. 3B/1B Jeimer Candelario (70/4) - Nope OF Jung Hoo Lee (50/5) - I don't know enough about him DH/RF/LF Jorge Soler (45/3) - definitely paying a FA premium but I wouldn't hate this CF Kevin Kiermaier (26/2) - Not exactly loving this with his age and injury history but he put up 2.2 fWAR and almost 4 bWAR last year SP Nick Martinez (25/2) - not bad SP Tyler Mahle (20/2) - not bad IF Gio Urshela (20/2) - he's not better than the in-house platoon options
  11. MLB Trade Runors is projecting 12 years 264 mil for Bellinger
  12. I was going to suggest Teoscar instead of Hoskins but Steamer doesn't really like Teoscar that much. 105 projected wRC+ compared to Hoskins' 116 wRC+. With Horwitz in the fold (projected 113 wRC+) I'd still probably be interested in Teoscar over Hoskins but I'd be game for either.
  13. Let's keep the pipe dreams to just one of them for now lol
  14. Well yeah but Schneider doesn't have options. It's Toronto or nothing. Apparently Gibbons doesn't have many options either. Bochy could basically pick where he manages and it ain't ever going to be TO.
  15. The 9 lives of Mitch White
  16. Bob Nightengale says we are hot on the Ohtani trail.
  17. Yeah I remember that as well. And he wouldn't sign with anyone other than Tampa because it was close to his offseason home. Atlanta is close enough I guess and he just keeps going.
  18. I actually think Green on a 2 year, 21 million dollar deal is under market. Robert Suarez got 5 years and 46 mil last year. Montero got 3 years, 33 million. Heck, Pierce Johnson just got 2 years and over 14 mil. He'll be entering his age 33 season and has an ERA over 4 for his career.
  19. I see some of what you are saying but this doesn't make our pitching depth better IMO. Kikuchi is a backend SP for us right now (and a pretty decent one at that?) and Francis is a depth starter. If you dump Kikuchi and then slide Francis up, how does that make the depth better? Even if you add a Junis or whoever.
  20. The problem with guys like that is we don't really have a spot in the current rotation for them but there are probably some s***** teams who do.
  21. Idk what McCutchen did to get his walk rate up that high again but if he can repeat that sign me up.
  22. Ah okay, I didn't realize he made that much more in the final year. I was just going off of the AAV. How would his salary be calculated for tax purposes for the team that acquires him for that final year? Would it be 14 mil (the AAV of his deal and what it is for the ChiSox)? Or would does it change for his new team to the 24.8 mil? ChiSox are cheapskates so he's definitely on the block if he's making that much and in order to move him they are going to have to eat some salary. I could see a Pearson for Moncada swap with the ChiSox eating about half of the salary.
  23. Yeah right now Manoah is probably the #5 and Francis and Tiedemann are in AAA as the main MLB depth. White probably the longman to start the year but I don't think we can rely on him to be an MLB SP. Would be cool to move Horwitz or someone for a backend SP with options.
