  1. I was only there a couple of innings but he rifled the ball to 2nd after the warm up pitches. Good accurate throws.
  2. Early game today at complex. Couldn't stay long..have to pick up my girlfriend at the airport. Pentecost was catching and looked good behind the plate. Pat Borders, Ernie Whitt and Pat Hentgen with a watchful eye on the proceedings. Hope to see him catching when the baby Jays return next week. Will keep you posted.
  3. Will they win another game this year? Need to shake things up.
  4. Palacios played today...only saw one at bat since I spent most of the time at the other diamond watching Gurriel. Gurriel drove a line shot double into the right field corner in his first at bat and just jogged into second.. I think he's nursing a hammy injury. No sign of Pentecost , so I asked a gentleman, who looked like a coach, about him and he wasn't sure but the guy next to him said that they kept him back from the road trip to get more work and would catch tomorrow before being reinstated next week. I didn't realize at first but that guy was Pat Hentgen. Never know who you'll see at the complex. Will report on Pentecost tomorrow. Btw, Reggie Pruitt is really fast... scored from first on a single when the outfielder bobbled the ball. Also a Mitch Nay (remember him) sighting...hit one to the warning track.
  5. Something's going on with Pentecost. Saturday he homers, Sunday has a double and looks good in both games. Dunedin goes on a road trip for a week and he is assigned to Vancouver. If he was hurt, they could just put him on the DL. Extended spring games start today and I'm wondering if he will finally be catching and then they can reassign him later. Will post later if I hear any news.
  6. I think I got in. Can you let me know?
  7. Extended starts next week. I'll look for Palacios...really like him.
  8. Good news and bad from the Dunedin Jays tonight. Good news- Pentecost with a homer and a line double to left plus stellar defence at first..made a nice play going to his left to prevent a double. Ryan Cook with a strong 3 innings in relief. Free tickets to the game and free movie tickets when the baby Jays win on a Saturday. Bad news- Zeuch left at the top of the second before he even faced a batter after a good first inning. The only positive I can offer is that he didn't seem to be in any distress. Hope it's nothing serious.
  9. Haha. Actually it was over $6500.
  10. Missed Dunedin's first game...a loss to Clearwater as I was at the Trop for the Jays game. As you probably saw for yourself, Tulo and Martin look lost at the plate...hope they break out soon. Morales blast was a no doubter the moment it left the bat. I would guess that more than half the people there ( there weren't many) were Jays fans. Nice that the attendance is so low, we were able to sit anywhere. For today's game and tomorrows, the total cost of my tickets was $22.11. ..$15 tonight (senior special every Thurs) and a promo every Friday from 7-Eleven...3rd deck tickets for $7.11. Of course, I won't be sitting in the 3rd deck. Gotta love it I hope they never leave the Trop. Will be at the Dunedin games on Sat and Sun.
  11. Sorry for the confusion. Pentecost will start at 1st base in Dunedin. Zeuch will pitch for Dunedin this year...moving up quickly.
  12. I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread...sometimes these reports can get lost in the prospects thread. News from the complex today. Latos sucks... probably gave up 8 hits in a row in an inter- squad game along with showing some attitude. Travis hit the ball hard every at bat and made a great play in the hole to get an out. Gurriel is a physical specimen and hit a line drive single in the only at bat I saw. SRF dominated in his 3 innings ( there were 2 inter squad games on today) Talked to Christian Williams father who said his son would be in Lansing along with Biggio, Bichette, Vlady and Woodman. Will have to plan a trip to Lansing. Pentecost will start at 1st in Dunedin and according to Charlie Wilson, so will T.J Zeuch All the full season players leave tomorrow. I'll go again on Monday to see if they've started extended spring.
  13. Didn't get in. Can you open more spots or create another one and combine the results? It wouldn't let me ignore the credit card s***.
  14. How about $75 for 1st and $25 for second.
  15. My boy. Will send reports from A ball in April...heading down next week.
  16. Isn't that a beautiful stadium in Clearwater? If you get a chance head over to the Mattick centre off Salon and CR1 around 11 to catch most of the prospects and some of the big leaguers. Enjoy the game on Saturday.
  17. No. Unfortunately, I won't be there until late March and will stay until the first week in May. Will watch a lot of A ball and extended spring at the Mattick. I will also see the Jays for their 2 series at the Trop...first and last weeks of April. I buy the cheapest tickets ( under $20) and sit anywhere. Can't wait to get down there...will send reports.
  18. I have a friend who was at the complex today and has been going to Spring training for years. He was really impressed with Alford and Ramirez. I know it's early but it would be nice to get a couple of breakout prospects this year....can't wait to get down there. Fortunately, he will be sending me daily updates.
  19. I'm there all of April for A ball but will also try to get down for the last week in March...may need tickets then. I'll be going to the 2nd and 3rd games of the Jays / Tampa series at the Trop. Opening day of the series is usually sold out but I just get the cheapest tickets for the next 2 games and sit where I want...the place is usually empty. For those going down for the first time, I suggest that if you want to see the players up close and personal for pictures and signing, make a trip to the Mattick Centre. Players who do not make the away game trips and most of the top prospects are usually there working out or playing in a intra-squad game. It is very loose atmosphere and the best part , It' s free.
  20. I do the same each year at Spring Training, actually at the Mattick Centre where it's less formal. I still have Synderguard, Stroman, Sanchez, Vlady, Norris, Hoffman, D'Arnaud, Raines and many more prospects that never amounted to much....Kevin Comer, Deck McGuire etc.
  21. Can you recommend a place to stay in Lansing and how far from Lansing is Birch Run? Thanks.
