  1. yes the 20 inning sample used to justify the other side of the arguement(for a guy who wasn't given the proper time to stetch out and hasn't started for 6 years) showed so much more patience.
  2. morrow saw more pitches than rasmus and thole combined I think..lol
  3. are framing statistics ump adjusted?
  4. Is 7 for 12 not a statistical decision why it might have been a good decision? Does it not make sense to try and get some speed at the top of the lineup? Does it not make sense to try and get a guy who was swing a hot bat in AAA in against a guy he has had success against to give him a bit of a confidence boost. You make it sound like it was 100% the wrong decision, when there is plenty of evidence to support either side of this argument. The decision worked out, and maybe it was pure asinine luck as you suggest, or perhaps it was a good decision. Seriously, with all the things you could fault John Gibbons on, and there's plenty out there, this is a long ways down the list.
  5. You're not going to read 8 lines of text. Sorry for putting too much mental strain on you. I guess there is only one right opinion, your opinion! Fair enough, it's a message board and people tend to have strong opinions. I still think you're crazy.
  6. Baseball is 90% mental...and the other half is physical. You have a guy coming up. You want him to get off to a good start and get some confidence going. You have a game where the 2 hole is open and your guy who just came up is 7 for 12 against Guthrie. He also has something you've sorely been lacking all year which is speed. Putting this guy in the 2 hole could give players like lawrie and Rasmus the kick in the pants they need to get going. There are plenty of angles you could go to as to why this move was made. If Maddon had done this you'd be proclaiming Chris Angel Mindfreak. Maddon throws a guy who just came up in the 2 hole. What other manager would do that? 6 War manager. Then you'd list all the reasons above for why it made sense. The fact that gibby did this and getz got 2 hits and stole a base, exactly what you would have hoped would have happened, and you are still bitching makes you sound like whiny little 13 year old girl. When Getz plays a full month in the 2 hole we can talk...but given that he played 1 game does not make that decision disgusting. It might even have been a touch Maddon like.
  7. we can't send him down...we'll lose him...have to keep him on the bench....
  8. Getz was 7 for 12 against Guthrie in career prior to tonight's game and he had 2 hits tonight...maybe you should quit your whining.
  9. here here...I'm using this pitching change to get myself a beer....let's go blue jays!
  10. he's definitely staying on the ball longer.....nice to see his average over .200
  11. at a boy butterball....so nice to see a catcher take walks again
  12. getz has nice speed....it's nice to see some speed with gose and getz up.
  13. I was like why is no one cheering on Colby's home run...and why are people complaining about buehrle...oh...what a blond moment
  14. ha ha.....I forgot I paused the game to talk to the wife...my bad...I didn't get much sleep last night...I'm out of it..lol
