    martin does have nagging injuries that we do know about. He's been beat up all year, but he's a warrior. I would bat martin in front of cola, but the world isn't coming to an end...mushroom man is going to have a good game..

    as is my nature...but if he's long tossing after more than 2 weeks of throwing a return to the mound by next week is not out of the realm of possibility and that gives him 2 months before the end of the season. It won't take him two months of throwing off the mound to get back. Now he may not be ready to throw off the mound in a week, but he's been tweeting non stop he's coming back. He's obviously talking to his doctors all the time and has a pretty good idea that it's possible.

    Stroman has been throwing since mid July. If he's on a mound in a week or so that gives him three weeks to ramp up for a September run so he'll have a full month of pitching before heading into the post season.

    Stro show is now long tossing, that's the last step prior to getting on the mound. He's coming back.....Estrada or hutch over dickey is a tricky one....that will be a tough decision.

    I agree, but Valencia is no longer a 3rd baseman and cant play second or short so hes really just a first baseman now too.

    that's what I was thinking. I was thinking whos wife did Valencia nail to get kicked off the team. Im surprised they couldn't trade Valencia whos got an .838 ops for some sort of prospect

    2016 will feature bautista, EE, Tulo, Donaldson, Martin, Saunders, Travis, Pillar with a rotation of Stroman, Osuna, Hutchinson, Sanchez and 50 million dollars coming off the books to go get a couple starting arms in the offseason. That looks pretty good to me.

    my mistake, I thought they were getting a comp pick. I was incorrect. As I said, I'm quite the busy little beaver. I'm sure you're not changing any diapers, now are you GD. I still like the trade, but the cost is more than I thought it would be if they got the pick. At least I'm not hedging my bets and not taking a stance. Would you do the trade GD

    Sorry for not checking the board and every single post. What with a job and kids, I don't get the opportunity to spend as much time as you on the board. It's a good question. There are those that jerk off over prospects and others who would actually like to win. Would I trade Stroman for Price? Absolutely not, but Stroman has demonstrated at the mlb level that he could be a front of the line starter. Norris has seen a drop in velocity that makes me worry about arm injuries, and his mechanics are no where near as solid as stroman. His walk rate is up and his strikeout rate is down by an alarming rate this year. He could still be that top of the rotation guy, but he looks more like a mid rotation arm which is something you should be able to get with a comp pick. You still wouldn't make this trade if you had no young pitching, but this team has Osuna, Hutch, Stroman and Sanchez...all who could start next year. Hey GD, I never noticed, did you like this trade or hate it?
